I received presentation and a detailed quote. Their agent was polite and professional.

This company would have been an excellent choice for the size solar panel system we wanted.  However we decided that, because we don't plan to keep our house more than 5 to 7 more years, the purchase of solar panels (cost versus overall savings) was not justified.

If we had planned to remain in our home several more years, we would certainly have gone with Solare Energy.

Project went very well and was completed in three days. They took care of all required paper work with SDGE and County and City Inspections. All work was completed by their personnel, no sub contractors. They were responsive to my questions and concerns about the project.

Matt was a very friendly and knowledgeable salesman. I agree with previous report I read. GOOD
Contract did not specify which model of inverter would be used, only brand name. The model they used was not sufficiently powerful to meet the system specificationsBAD Probably should make sure all parts are clearly specified, priced separately, hazards identified, matching checked, etc.
I WOULD USE THEM AGAIN, BUT WOULD TAKE MORE TIME, MORE OTHER BIDS, AND EXPERT ADVICE BEFORE SELECTING A SYSTEM
This dispute is NOT YET FINISHED. hence overall grade right now is no more than C.Jose took care of all the minor problems that arose, and seemed to be helping me to get dispute resolved by his providers. He even agreed to install the better inverters at no cost if the suppliers would supply them ( or if I would purchase them with no credit for the old ones) but so far no success. He also agreed to TAKE CARE OF ANY PROBLEMS UNDER WARRANTY but so far no success.CECK

Still no resolution

The positive experience started with the sales rep (Matt). In comparison to other quotes (3) we received and the other sales reps, Matt was more a knowledgeable consultant than a sales guy. He actually inspected the house, got up on the roof, and discussed pros and cons of different solar strategies. The other sales guys sat at the kitchen table and looked at our energy bill... period. Based on our energy bill, we would have needed a 36 panel system. After Matt did his walk around, he made some recommendations that included CFL light bulbs in key areas, motion detector switches in other areas, an ROI on replacing an old freezer with an energy efficient one, and a high efficiency pool pump. The net of that was a savings of 6 solar panels and a better ROI for us. In fact, I installed the first motion detector myself which didn't work right with fluorescent bulbs. Matt saw this and had his electrical guy go buy the right motion switch and install it... at no charge for the switch or labor.

The installation team, who are all Solare Energy Employees, were all professional, courteous, and on time. Larry, the project manager, took care of everything... all the permits, letters, and forms. Larry was in constant communication with us about the status of the project all the way through. This can be a complex process and it went off without a hitch.

As part of the whole project Solare also installed our new pool pump, and relocated the solar water heater panels that were already in place before the solar electricity. It was great that they took responsibility for the whole project rather than just the Solar panels.

They had a small problem locating the monitoring system so that it could communicate (wireless) with all 30 micro-inverters since they were distributed on many roof surfaces. The solution was a location in the garage that had no electrical outlet nearby. Solare went and purchased the materials to add an outlet in the garage and installed the new outlet... again they did not charge for the parts or the labor to install it.

After the first two days of monitoring I had a concern about some spikes in the output of the panels. Instead of just telling me and quot;it's normaland quot;, Larry sat down and showed me the monitored output of other homes in the area on his iPhone to show that the output profile was the same and that it was due to cloud cover rather than a technical problem.

I would highly recommend using Solare if you're considering a solar energy system.
