The washing was good.  We needed some repairs, as concrete was showing, for which we paid an additional $400.  Some of them were excellent, but others did not look so good.  Also,  they would not cover the edges of the concrete like they did last time.   But our main complaint is that we have three vinyl strips on the patio which we thought were expansion joints, and two of them were loose at one end.  Without mentioning anything to us, they simply cut off the two strips to 2/3 of their length, instead of securing them at the loose ends.  The patio is very unattractive with 1 - 12 foot strip and two 8 foot strips parallel to one another.  I complained to the owner, but he did not offer a solution to the problem.  He said it is unreparable.

We loved the pebble paving. It was done with quality and good overall service. The job took a day or two more than estimated but I'm starting to get used to that with all contractors so no real negative for me.

First of all, I do not like it when the company has you deal with three different people. The gentleman who did the estimate is one of the brothers who supposedly owns the company. Very affable. The company showed up 2 weeks later did a powerwash. Then the crew showed up to do the work. The work was substandard. I really could not believe the number of holes they left up filled with pebbles. They do not do any quality control or inspection of their own work. The crew of three really was a crew of 1 and a half. The one guy does most of the work, but doesn't direct the other two. They mopped adhesive into the pebbles and were more focused on talking then working. The main guy admitted he didn't think the patches came out very good, but asked for a check anyway. He didn't offer any followup. I couldn't walk on it till 24 hours had passed. I was literally astounded as to how sloppy the patches were fixed. i could have done a better job.

I called and complained and got an appt with Brother #2. Rude, unprofessional and condescending. Jackhammer it out? Really? I could have taken a household hammer and knocked out the pebbles.

Its 2011, I don't expect to be talked to so rudely by anyone. Never told the guy that (a) I had in fact operated a jackhammer myself and (b) was in the highway construction biz for over 25 years and (c) married to a civil engineer. Listening to him defend this bad job was some of the most iridiculous stuff I have heard in years.

They came out again and did some patching but it still looks like crap.

I will never use them again.

They sent us a $25 gift certificate to apologize for the rudeness of their rep. I would have rather had a job done right. Shameful that there aren't more pebble companies to compete with the outfit.
Response from PEBBLE PAVING & RESURFACING CO

"We first heard of this complaint in Dec., 2013. We're sorry [Member name removed] was unhappy with the result. Our other 4000+ customers aren't. Unfortunately there was no maintenance on the deck for over 15 years (her estimate). We not only did what we were hired to do but more. We came back and filled another 100 holes and a large area at no charge. None of THAT had been ordered nor paid for previously. Our advice to her is the same today as it was before she hired us: it's too far gone to expect anything but a patch job. And the $25 gift certificate we gave her was hardly an apology...it's a gift we gave to all customers."

Resealing and repair was completed after two delays - one weather, thesecond pushed back a day by contractor. Contractor arrived on time and completed job in a reasonable time frame. Had used this contractor many times since originally covering the driveway and sidewalk with pebble paving many years ago. The previous restorations left the appearance as new. Not so this time. Cracks are still visible. They are sealed but visible. Contractor says he can do nothing about it except additional expensive repairs.

Owner responded to initial phone call, came out that day to give estimate. I had to have some preliminary work done. As soon as that was completed, he scheduled his work within just a few days. Men came to work on time, were very professional, did an excellent job. I can't really judge price as I have not had this kind of work done before.

Before approaching Pebble Paving Co., I had hired a local contractor (Per Lay Masonry) for a concrete job totaling 1590 sq. ft., which turned out to be the worst concrete job I have ever seen. The only option that seemed at the moment was to demolish the old concrete and redo with new till I meet Bob Falconer. Bob explained me the way pebble paving was done and how it strengthens the surface while adding superb texture to the surface and to most extend it could also cover the unleveled concrete surfaces. Bob proved himself to be a subject matter expert as it all came out according to his professional judgment. Bob s team is excellent as mentioned above, throughout professionals and absolutely know what they do.

I liked the owner of the company. He first came out and gave me the estimate. It was nice to know that he is very concerned with his company and every job that he does. The workers that actually came out were fantastic. They were nice and they knew what they were talking about and got the job done accurately.

I'm sure the company did something but we could not tell any difference. The 'super wash' was a joke - it was just like hosing down the patio. We had this done in 1998 and have not done it since. We did not have problems with rocks coming loose so I think it doesn't really need to be done.

THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY DID THE INITIAL ESTIMATE. WE FELT HIS COMPANY HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED OVER 20 YRS AND WE HAD SEVERAL FRIENDS USE HIS SERVICE. WE FELT HIS BUSINESS RELIES HEAVILY ON WORD-OF-MOUTH REFERRALS AND HE WOULD DO A NICE JOB TO ENSURE HIS COMPANY CAN CONTINUE TO SUCCEED. THE WORK WAS COMPLETED IN APPROX 6 HRS AND THE WORKERS CAME BACK THE NEXT DAY TO MAKE SURE THE INSTALLATION WAS TO OUR SATISFACTION.

AFTER IT WAS DONE WE DECIDED WE WOULD HAVE PREFERRED TO HAVE USED A DIFFERENT TYPE OF SURFACE.
