This project was done in the upmost professional manner! My wife and I had been talking about replacing our windows for years. One Friday afternoon I was outside doing yard work, when I was approached by one of Pacific Homeworks representatives named Alex. Alex, was a very nice chasimatic gentleman, who was a pleasure to speak with, he informed me that they had been doing work in my neighborhood, and we're going to be in the area giving out free estimates for some of my neighbors. I let Alex know that my wife and I had talked about our windows in the past, and that I would like a free estimate. Well, about a week later we had the pleasure of meeting one of Pacific Homeworks estimators named Kyle. Kyle was quite a funny gentleman, and through his presentation, really educated my wife and I the differences between Windows on the market. We really liked the products that Kyle was able to show us, and we decided to get the work done. We couldn't be happier with that decision, everyone we met from Pacific along the way was truly a pleasure to work with, everything that was supposed to be done, got done above and beyond our expectations. We are writing this review to recommend Pacific Homeworks, in any facet of home remodeling, they are a great outfit, and do amazing work!

Had some issues with the work crew showing up one day and not much communication

with the job boss until I called the corporate people in Torrance. After that things went well.

I think they did a good job overall but I'm worried about the paint used on my security bars. It should have been oil base as quoted by job boss, not latex. They did prep the bars well and used a decent primer before painting.

The actual crew that worked on the house did a great job, very pleased with the worker bees. The house looks great but the trim looks different from what we selected.

Aaron, the company boss, came to our home and spent a great deal of time with us, explaining how various roofing systems work, the benefits, costs, advantages, and drawbacks of various products and installations, and answering all of our questions to our understanding and satisfaction. He had great samples of his products and videos of work being performed.
Jeff, our project manager, kept in touch with us often, keeping us in the loop. He was present on the jobsite for extended periods of time and made sure the work was being done to company standards. The site was thoroughly cleaned up at the end of each workday. Everyone was courteous, professional, cordial and very pleasant to interact with. They treated each other with courtesy and respect, as well. Workers worked well together.
All work was completed in a timely manner and the result is beautiful. We are two very satisfactory customers and have already made arrangements for two more big remodeling projects with this company. Would recommend them very, very highly. When the time came to talk to a sales representative about the new projects, we got Aaron again. VIP treatment all the way! He arranged for us to get Jeff back as project manager as well.

I found out about Pacific Homeworks through a sales person who came to my door.  While I know some people hate that kind of selling, I don't mind it, so long as they don't play the "Buy it now or the price will be much higher" game.  Pacific Homeworks gave me a written bid price and told me the price was good for a year--that information was also on the written bid.  That impressed me favorably.  It is also one of the reasons they got my business.  Anybody who tells me that I have to buy it today to get the price quoted has already lost my business because in my opinion, that approach is used only by companies that significantly overprice their work, or who are dishonest and out to cheat me.
I got 3 bids on the work, and two were about the same cost.  The third one was $4,000 higher than the other two.  Obviously, Pacific Homeworks was one of the two lowest bids.
The work was done to my satisfaction.  The workers arrived exactly when scheduled, & completed the work in the promised 2 days.  The result looks very professional.  The assessor provided us with a variety of roof options, and explained the advantages and disadvantages of each.  The windows in the new sliding door are weather resistant and in vinyl frame.  I must say the new door looks a LOT better than the old one, so I'm actually glad I had to replace the whole door.
The workers arrived on time, went right to work, and got the job done in 2 days.  Everybody we talked with at the company was courteous, professional and respectful.  I found them very easy to work with.
The patio and door are on the west side of the house.  Heat poured into our kitchen and family room, and the patio was too hot to use in the summer. Given the combination of roof and new glass sliding door, the heat no longer pours into our kitchen and family room, which was one of the benefits promised.  Also, with the roof and ceiling fan, even in the hottest weather we can sit on the patio.  With the lights, we can use the patio at night too.  My neighbors have commented very favorably on the attractiveness of the new porch roof, and having good relationships with neighbors is important to us.
Although I have not yet had more work done, I will definitely get a bid from Pacific Homeworks when I am ready to redo my kitchen and have other work done.
All in all, I am pleased and have no reservations about recommending this company to my friends and neighbors.

Pacific homeworks came to my door and i told them i was interested in having the kitchen re done. The sales reps that came by looked over everything in the kitchen and gave me their thoughts and ideas on what would be the best route for my kitchen. We sat in for about 2-3 hours discussing all my possibilities. We ended up deciding that re-facing would be the best plan. After they took their rough measurements of counter space, cabinet space and floor space we sat down while they punched numbers. After the loan was approved we were given a few contact numbers in case we had any further questions. The initial meeting went well so we expected the rest to be as smooth. Now most of the work was being done while i was at work but there were frequent reschedules. There were times when i felt like they weren't communicating very well. When they pulled my appliances out of the kitchen to work they simply left them in the middle of my dining room. I found out later that there was slight mis-communication while they were figuring out prices because they left out a trash can slider and undersink flip out tray that i asked for but after i called about three times over the course of two weeks they finally came and fixed that. It was hard to get a response back from them unless it had to do with payments not being received even though i didn't feel like the job was complete. There was a shelf removed from the counter and they had to remove some of the wall. The contractor who was there didn't think it had to be painted i guess because he left in unpatched and unpainted. I had to call several times for that. On top of not painting it he left putty marks all over the counter tops which i had to clean myself. I also made several calls for them to come back and haul of the waste they left behind even though that was a stipulation in our contract that they would do so. Once i finally got done with all the calls and the waiting for promises to be fulfilled the kitchen came out quite nice. I never heard back from the sales people who were supposed to come back out with their CEO and look over the job to see if it was done correctly. There was absolutely no follow through on anyone's part but my own and i don't know much about kitchen repairs so there's no telling if anything else is still wrong. All in all they do good work if you stay on them and harass them to do their job but i for one don't have that kind of time after spending the amount of money that i did. I will not be using them again.

We first were contacted by Pacific Homeworks.  We had a previous relationship with them.  We scheduled an appointment for the evening.  Art  was out on time.  Art spent about 1hr with us going over the details of our project.  We agreed to do the work.  Nick came out and met us the following evening to remeasure the windows for ordering purposes.  About 2 weeks later we got a call from Nick to schedule our installation the following saturday.  Justin and another man showed up on saturday and put in our windows.  CLean up was very good.  Nick came out that afternoon and looked over the project with us.  They have called us again, but we are not yet ready for the remaining work.

The afternoon before the job was scheduled to start all the materials were deliver directly to the roof.  The roofers were to show up the next day around 8:30 am.  The next morning the team of roofers were on sight by 7:30, an hour before they told me they would be arriving.  For me, this was great to see.  The guy in charge introduced himself to me and explained exactly what they would be doing.  The entire job was completed by 1:30 pm.  I was then asked to inspect their work.  It looked great!  The roofers also did an extensive clean up all the way around the house only missing a few little peace of shingles.  They actually did a very good job and the roofers were very professional.
I have to admit that I was a bit apprehensive about Pacific Homeworks after reading their reviews.  I must say, my experience with the workers and the finished product was excellent and I would recommend them to other people.

They showed up on time each day of the jobJob took three days start to finishDuring the work we were not able to reach our contact with questions or concernsThey did not cover the bathroom and heating vents so bathroom sink and heater cover were full of debrisI was on roof with them most of first day and most went OK - clean up was good aside from bathroom and heater closetI was on roof most of second day and it was clear that they would do a good job as long as I watched everything they didThere were a few things I asked them to correct on the second and third days which they did not doI spoke with project manager and his boss and his boss's boss in order to get some things corrected (things that were half-assed when I wasn't watching like a hawk)The shingling crew where no where near as good at clean up as promised in the sale of the job - I spent about 10 minutes the second day using their magnet to pick up nails (because they wouldn't) and I spent about 90 minutes picking up after the third day because they used a leaf blower to blow the debris under the shrubs and bushesNo matter who I talked to or how many people I talked to at this company - no one knew what anyone else had heard or said - I had to repeat myself constantly and was met with nothing but excuses and empty apologiesThey were very much into the hard sale when they quoted the jobThey also made the final charge on my credit card before the job was finished and without my signing off on the job

Pacific Homeworks recently installed my Roof.  My Previous roof was a large shake shingle.  We only had skip sheeting, so the entire roof needed to be resheeted.  We had entertained a previous estimate and were offered the job for 15000.  This contractor was going to use staples and did not mention to us anything about needing the sheeting.  My representative from Pacific Homeworks Is Aaron Gilfand.  He gave us a very thorough explanation of the work to be done.  My roof looks amazing and couldn't be happier.
We were offered an initial estimate guaranteed for 12 months.  This is why we initially had our estimate.  We were offered a 10% discount to schedule the work.  At the time we were nervous about the decision, but were very comfortable with the education we had received and Aaron as our rep.  We just recently joined Angies list, so did not have this service.  We did check the BBB report and were relieved to see they boasted an A+.  We also verified Pacific Homeworks membership with the League of California Homeowners.  We are excited to be part of Angies list, and look forward to using them in the future for helping us identify our next contractor, although we most likely will be using Pacific Homeworks.
In short, we are extremely satisfied with Pacific Homeworks and Aaron Gilfand and will highly recommend them.  Thank your for a job well done.

Slow getting the job started. It took them 45 days to start job. Salesman was very high pressure and misled buyer regarding "free" 30 workmanship and product warranty. Buyer was told to expect 90 delay before "big envelope" with warranty papers would come from GAF/ELK. Buyer had to pursue getting warranty and contractor has yet to provide 30/30 year warranty from manufacturer. Also, did not explain that NO underlayment (felt paper) would be installed. Used higher Los Angeles prices to pretend to give buyer 30% discount when price for work in San Diego area was about 10% above going rate. Although the workmanship of installers was satisfactory, this company engaged in deceptive practices as noted above. When work is completed this company becomes obdurate and will not reply to phone calls. Consumers should avoid this company as it will not fulfill their contractual obligations and will not return calls. Pacific Homeworks seems more motivated to obtain a binding contract than it is in providing the consumer with a beneficial service.

It took them an entire year to get the windows right. The first installation, the windows didn't have grids (the order form clearly stated grids). The second installation attempt, the windows had grids, but were in the wrong pattern (we wanted standard, square grids and they looked like jail bars, which would have been a custom order). The third installation attempt, the grids were correct, but the windows didn't fit. Same for the fourth installation. FINALLY, on the fifth try, they got it right. We had to take time off work for every installation. Pacific Homeworks kept blaming their supplier and said this never happens, but given our experience, I don't believe them. They actually encouraged me to call the supplier to complain, and I told him that's not my job. The salesperson was no help to us after the sale, and he quit/was fired halfway thru this process. I had to call a variety of phone numbers each time to get a response, and I was always the one to call them to follow up on scheduling the next installation attempt. They were usually "just about to call me" when I called them. During the sales pitch, they said their laborers are trained experts for each field (ex: windows guys don't do roofing) but we heard the window guys talking about having to do a roofing job the next day. I will NEVER use them again, and I've told a lot of other people not to use them.

THEY WERE HERE, THEY TOOK THE WINDOWS OUT, THEY REPLACED THEM, AND THEY EXPLAINED TO ME HOW THEY WERE SEALING THEM WHEN THEY REINSTALLED THEM. THERE WAS NO MESS LEFTOVER WHATSOEVER. I SORT OF FELT LIKE IT WAS A PRICING GIMMICK, BECAUSE THEY STARTED THE COST AT $26,000, BUT THEN CAME DOWN ALMOST HALF, BUT I'M VERY HAPPY WITH THEIR WORK. THEY DID A GOOD JOB AND THE WINDOWS SEEM TO BE OF VERY HIGH QUALITY. THEY SHOWED ONE TYPE OF WINDOW DURING THE ESTIMATE, BUT THEY INSTALLED A DIFFERENT BRAND WHEN THEY DID THE WORK, SO THEY PUT IN DIFFERENT WINDOWS THAN WHAT I HAD EXPECTED.

THEY TOLD ME THAT ANYTHING THAT WAS DAMAGED WOULD BE REPLACED AND THAT IT WAS INCLUDED IN THE INITIALLY QUOTED TOTAL COST OF $9752. THEY HAVE COME BACK TO ME ASKING THAT I PAY AN ADDITIONAL $5642 FOR THE DAMAGED PLYWOOD TO BE REPLACED AND BROUGHT UP TO CODE. I THOUGHT THIS WOULD BE INCLUDED WITH THE INITIAL QUOTE. THE CONTRACT SAYS THAT THE ROOF DECK WILL BE REPLACED WHERE NECESSARY.
