We had used him before in the past and had no issues with him. We were having our living room and dining room redone and need the windows also redone in our 1908 craftsman’s home. He would not give us a written estimate, keep wanting more money and telling us the windows were done, then tried to extort more money out of us to get our windows back. He is the only issue we had with our remodel and the windows are still not done.

Miles performs quality work. Just look at the details of the reglazing, my local glass shop that did a few other panes for me does not even come close. Not cheap, but you do get good value for what you spend especially for trickier situations like mine. He stuck to his bid even when it took longer than expected. If I were to have to list a nit, it would be a one common to most contractors - schedule. These guys all want to keep 10 balls in the air at all times, so things take a while to get done. Miles always showed up at the promised time, but it took a bit of nagging to get him to commit to a time in the first place. In the grand scheme of things this is a tolerable issue. I recently hired another guy who would show up as promised but lacked attention to detail. Miles is a much more favorable tradeoff :-)

Miles is a professional craftsman. He was on the job the day after I initially called him! His appreciation and love for old homes is obvious. He pointed out a couple of other structural issues with another set of windows and he will be coming back this week to tackle those. I'm so grateful I found him. I now know the windows in my home can be maintained to work as well as they were meant to all those years ago. If you own an old home with double hung windows, you will want this man's phone number!!

Miles is a true craftsman who is passionate about windows and upholding the vintage look and feel of historic homes. We had spent several weekends stripping all of our original windows down to wood and repainting so that they would work properly again. Miles offered advice on how to best restore them and how to direct our house painter not to mess up the tracks again so that they would function properly. The advice: take the extra time to take out each window and paint it so that they don't stick! Miles is always very responsive and willing to show you how to do the repairs yourself since working on these window is somewhat of a lost art. Although we were able to get most of our windows functioning, we had Miles come in and finesse them, reglaze a couple of panes, and we will have him come back and repair the weights on some, too.

I have an historic home built in 1933. The windows are double hung sash windows that needed repairs done to them. When my general contractor hired someone who had no idea how to access and repair the windows, I kicked him out and decided to take matters into my own hands. I immediately went to Angies List and found the perfect person for the job with the very FIRST phone call. After a fantastic phone interview with Miles of Milescraft Window, I set up a meeting at my home to get an estimate. When Miles came into the house, he immediately knew what needed to be done. He has a passion for old homes and the craftsmanship that comes with them. I hired him on the spot and a week later he showed up on time and got to work. He repaired all of the windows perfectly. He was clean, efficient and respected the fact that he was in my home and not just at another job site. He cleaned up after the work was done. Besides doing exceptional work, he is a very nice and trustworthy man. I will definitely use him again and will recommend him to my general contractor. He deserves an A+ for the work done.

Today I called Milescraft to see about getting a couple window tracks in my home repaired. Although Milescraft doesn't do the sort of repair work I required they did provide me the information I needed to get the replacement parts for my window.

Its great when you get unexpected help like this for free. Thank you!!!

The work went fantastic. I contacted Miles based on the many positive reviews in Angies List and I was very impressed by his professionalism, craftsmanship, honesty and desire to do the best job possible. He came out and gave me a very good quote. He showed up as promised to do the work and completed it one day. He didn't take any shortcuts. It would definitely hire him again and refer him to anyone.

I can't say enough about how wonderful Miles is. He responded immediately, arriving on a Saturday morning shortly after I'd called, he had a great solution, offered to do whatever we needed to do to secure the window until the glass arrived. I was satisfied with the improvised covering, I'd put together the evening before, but he assured me that if I changed my mind, he'd come right back. Miles kept me apprised of the progress of the glass, which had to be specially ordered and cut. He was hoping to have it on Sunday, but his glass person thought that it would be ready Tuesday. Miles came a day earlier than he thought would be possible and accommodated my schedule for a Monday installation. In retrospect, it's clear to me that Miles didn't charge enough for his labor. He only charges his own cost for the materials: $76.00 for specialized safety glass and $50.00 for his time, which included a weekend visit, two trips to the glass maker, a Monday installation that accommodated my schedule, and tremendous craft and care in installing a window that was much thicker than the one that had previously been there so that the angles and puttying would match the adjacent window as closely as possible. MilesCraft is a family business, Miles is a consummate craftsman, and I am definitely going to have him rework some other windows in our home.

He is very good and reasonable. It takes a while for him to get around to the job but he is clear about that.

The estimate was fine but I decided not to do the work. My garden window is old and wooden and termites had gotten into it. I restored it but not to the degree that he was offering. I was fine and if I had that money to spend, I probably would have used him.

Superb-though we had to wait to get on his calendar for some time, Miles was able to completely re-create the original window from scratch-it is impossible to tell the difference from the original- less the rot that is! He is pricey, but his craftsmanship and lifetime warranty are worth it.
