Michael Smyth Masonry

I was having big problems with my little planter. The small trees it housed got big enough to heave bricks up from its concrete and stucco base. It also cracked a couple of mortar joints. After looking on Angie's List for masons and finding more big companies than craftsmen, I went to Yelp. There I found Michael Smyth Masonry. Oh am I glad I did. He had a bunch of five-star reviews. Good start. Then I went to his website and saw pictures of his work. Just like the reviews said--big job, medium job, small job, it's all the same---the man has talent and it shows in his work. I called him in the morning and he returned my call around 6 P.M. that evening. He asked for pictures of the damage and I obliged. The next day I had his (very reasonable) quote and hired him on the spot. On the day of the appointment, he showed up early. Turns out the work was more extensive than I first thought. Michael showed me additional areas of damage I'd missed and suggested he fix those as well. I watched him work and it seemed to me he went the extra mile to ensure the repairs would hold up long-term. The finished work was gorgeous. I couldn't have been happier. Except when he told me he'd stick to the original cost estimate. Wow! My highest recommendation.
