Very happy with Jose and team. Good communication and follow up, on time, crew worked well together and safely. Cleaned up great. Trees look good. Really happy with the whole experience.

This was the second time we hired Leaf it to Us Tree Service. The first time was 11 years ago for tree trimming. Workers were professional and considerate of our concerns. They were polite and thorough. On this visit, the tree had to be completely removed and the stump ground down to prevent property damage. Tree limbs and the trunk were cut into firewood size pieces and neatly stacked. Everything not suitable for firewood was removed from property. The crew cleaned up which included raking, sweeping and air blowing. We are very pleased with the job Leaf it to Us did and we will hire them again for future projects.

I called Leaf it to Us for a consultation on two Ash trees on our property. With large roots and great canopies we regard them as a great community asset for all to enjoy. We were worried about this particular trees health and Jose, co-owner with Amelia, came out to give us a consultation and followed up with a quote.  Jose was very knowledgeable and it is evident he is extremely good at his job. 1) His knowledge of trees and remedies, 2) Customer Service and responsiveness.
We scheduled the work for about 5 weeks later per my request. I had to work and didn't need to be there, which I am glad i wasn't. i wasn't sure how I would feel about seeing the tree getting cut up.  They came, they did the job, they cleaned up. We came home to entirely different looking tree. Where once it looked tired, weighted and dry, the tree we parked next to looked light, clean, and healthy. All of our neighbors filled us in on the details of the work completed. Leaf it to Us staff climbed, they cut, and the grinded down the branches.Yet when we arrived home there were no signs of any of that, just a beautiful tree. 
We will calling them again for our second Ash tree when we have the courage to trim that one too!
The price was extremely fair for the amount of hours, work and result delivered. 

Their estimate offered detailed recommendations for the locust trees and quoted a reasonable price.
The work was completed within 90 minutes and without incident. 
They informed us that they did not take payment until the second truck with the chipper came by to dispose of the trimmings, which we appreciated.
They did an amazing job cleaning up the ground around the trees.
The chipper truck arrived within an hour of the crew's departure.
Very good experience.
We will be using them again.

LEAF IT TO US TREE SERVICE did a great job.

Everything went great. Everyone that saw them commented on the quality of the job done on the grapefruits. They were in desperate need of pruning, since I would guess it had been maybe five years or more that they had gone without any care. The pine tree was serving as a walkway for rats. Everything needed to be removed that was creating this rather big problem. Again, they did a great job.

They showed up on time, he brought enough guys to finish quickly (they showed up at 8am and were done before lunch). I felt the price was reasonable, the bulk of it was actually for removal of the dead wood and not the tree cutting itself. Overall I was happy with the entire experience and would recommend this company.

I purchased a foreclosure in Encinitas in March 2012 and had Jose and his crew trim all of the trees on the property in April 2012. They did a fantastic job and their price was competitive compared to the other two estimates I got. I liked their work so much that I recently reached out to them to get an estimate for work that needs to be done on a rental property. This time I got one other estimate and sure enough Jose’s price is competitive. I don’t even need to get a 3rd estimate because I am already familiar with their work and hiring them is a no-brainer. I will only update my post if something goes wrong with their upcoming work. But I wanted to post something about them now that I am an Angies list member and have a minute to type something up.

What puts Jose over the top
1 He is generous, offering free yet well informed advice on tree selection for future planting.
2. He cares for the trees. I know this sounds like such a cliche, but he could've made a lot more money had he wanted to, because we thought our ficus tree needed a lot more trimming. Yet he was concerned about the tree's long term growing habit, and trimmed it accordingly. We are very glad we listened to his advice.
3. He is very knowledgeable. I work in a related field, and was pleasantly surprised to hear him identify the trees not only by their common name but also by their Latin name! He was also right about the fungus in our olive tree.
4. He took his time. He listened to our concerns (safety for kids, roof damage, foundation damage) and then explained to us in detail all the options.
I know that our trees are in good hands.

They did great. They are knowledgeable and courteous. They were reliable, and I worked with him to see what was okay to trim. I don't let anyone just go to town on a tree. I have to know what they are going to do. I had a pine tree partially cut down, when they took the rest down, I had an unusual request of wanting to have 2-3 foot tall pieces of this 30 inch diameter tree. They accomodated that for me, and moved them to where I wanted them. They were heavy. They also cleaned up after themselves and did not damage anything. Made sure that everything was okay.

They were overall nice guys to work with.
