"Hello, While I understand the grade on punctuality, I don't understand the grade for quality. Doesn't your tub drain well or is it still draining too slow. You don't explain what the vanity has to do with the bath tub. They contractors could have installed that vanity at any time. I stayed to answer any other questions you had about your icemaker line, the roots coming up next to the toilet and your other water and sewer issues. Furthermore the equipment we use to clear drains is a thicker and more invasive snake than most other plumbers use. That is why we are willing to put a warranty when we do drain cleaning. Our truck is bigger than most, because we carry more tools and supplies than most. I guarantee you can always find someone cheaper, but Larry has been in the business since 1947, (yes he is that old) but I doubt you will find anyone trained better than his crew of people. If you ever want to meet Larry personally, he loves going out to meet his clients. Best wishes from Larry Hudson Plumbing"
He came within 1/2 hour of our call (we called about 2:30 p.m.) and worked until 8:00 p.m. non-stop until all the problems were corrected.
He showed us all details and explained every step of the process. His cheerfulness was unending!!!! I would definitely use this plumber again!!!!!
"Thank you for your kind comments. It is a pleasure working for someone who understands what quality and workmanship looks like. I enjoyed talking with you throughout the entire installation and explaining what I was doing. I enjoy working for you and will be there when you need it. Best wishes, Dan"
Sure enough, the heater pilot light would not light up again, so called Larry Hudson to come out again on short notice. They came out the next day to install a new 50 gal hot water heater.
Larry Hudson's employee spent about 4-5 hrs removing the old hot water heater and installing the new hot water heater (all per code).
Larry Hudson is such an honest company, that they credit us with the cost of the repairs that were made in July.
I probably could have found a cheaper price, but I know that Larry Hudson will do all the work correctly and per code. I learned the hard way many years ago, that the work should be done to code otherwise you may have issues when it comes to sell your house.
It was a tough start as I think Dan was in a hurry with the initial referral at the house. After I called Larry to talk to him about the problem, everything changed. Larry and Dan came to the house and explained what was happening to my pipes and then gave me an estimate (Low - High) even though it all depended upon what was going on under the ground. Both Larry and Dan came to the house (after I changed the day at the last minute) to take the water heater out, dig up the concrete and ground, find the HUGE crack in my sewer pipe/dirt in the pipe, replaced it to code, and put the water heater back in (to code). Dan came the next day (Saturday) to finish off the work. After almost 2 weeks of not knowing what was going on with my house and getting the run-around from all sorts of different plumbers, Dan and Larry took care of it with skill professionalism.
15% DISCOUNT FOR FIRST TIME CUSTOMER WAS GREATLY APPRECIATED.
Dan was upfront with me and didn't try to jack up the price, as far as I could tell. But I put a "C" for the price, because I think that the amount for a half-hour's labor and the part was a bit much -- even for a plumber, and even with the Angie's List discount. And Dan left some old parts behind when he left, even though he said they had to do a surcharge because parts like the one he worked on had to be taken to a special disposal site somewhere in the county.
All-in-all, this was a positive experience and I will use this company again.
There was one instance at the same house, where I asked Hudson Plumbing to check under the house for pipe leaks because the tenant had reported seeing standing water via the crawl space. A Hudson plumber came out, crawled under the house through the mud and checked all the pipes for leaks. He found none and the assumption ws made that either the tub or toilet in the bathroom had overflowed, maybe several times. The assumption was correct, because the area under the house dried up eventually and has not been wet since. I expected a bill for the inspection, but never got one. So you have to average that kind of thing in with some of the high prices.
Also, when you call Larry Hudson Plumbing, you will always talk to Larry Hudson before a plumber is sent to your job.
