KIEN GARDENER SERVICE

Contacted this company as they were on Angie's List and had a good report. Made an appointment for Kien to come to my home and give an estimate for monthly maintenance. He never showed for the appointment nor did he call and cancel the appointment.

He arrived at 8am and started to work. I left for work and didn't see him after that. My husband drove by at lunch time to check on his progress and he was already gone. The only thing he had done was take out the hibiscus tree, and partially trim the bouganvilla. The clippings from the bouganvilla were left behind where they fell. My husband assumed he had gone to get lunch, but as it turns out, that's all he did. We never saw him again. I made numerous calls to him, and always got an answering machine. He did call me back once to say he was sick, and then again to say he was in the hospital. I told him I hoped he felt better and to call me when he was ready to finish the work. He said he'd be back the following Monday. He did not come back or call and had already cashed my check, during the time he said he was in the hospital. I don't know how much of the story to believe, maybe there's some truth to his story, but why didn't he ever come back and finish the work if he really was ill and needed time to recover. He didn't even call me to explain. I finally just stopped calling him and wrote it off as a bad decision on my part to hire him.

Kien did an excellent job! He exceeded our expectations. He was prompt, pleasant, and did what he said he was going to do. He was meticulous and paid attention to detail. When he trimmed or removed shrubs or plants he did so with an eye to the future; for example, how the tree/shrub/vine would look when it grew in, ease of future maintenance, and overall creating a neat and pleasant appearance. He will be maintaining our yard, garden, and slope in the future. His maintenance rates vary on the frequency and type of work you want done. We decided to go for a complete service twice-a-month that includes mow and trim of our whole property with soil fertilization and maintenance. The cost for this service is $60/month. We are very pleased with Kien s gardening service and highly recommend him for one-time landscaping/tree-trimming needs or regular lawn and garden maintenance.
