Inspection Perfection

Will was great. Gave us a very thorough inspection and was just a nice
guy to work with. He also took the time to explain everything we needed
to know about the house. This is the first review I've ever given and
I'm doing it because Will is just outstanding and people should know
about him.

Will came over to the townhouse my wife and I were in the process of buying. I knew Will through my work in sustainable energy and he always stood out as a leader in his field. He did a thorough inspection of the property and included a visual energy inspection as well. He found several issues and explained them to me on site. Inspection Perfection followed up with a detailed written report the same day. I was very happy with the service.

I have no complaint or comment regarding the inspection.  However, with the report a foundation repair contractor was recommended by the inspector and I opted to use him.  Now  I can't understand why he was recommended.  
Although the  work wasn't  finished until approximately 4 months later than promised,  the job was not one requiring major repair or changes.  The prep time was only a few days and the final work was one day. 
 I feel the foundation repair contractor used the permit process as an excuse to delay the completion of the job.  He failed to let me know what was happening or not happening throughout the process and when I called to find out, I got a call filled with a lengthy apology of every excuse possible.  This happened several times and the excuses were always the same ones.   Promises were made and not kept.  I felt by being patient with him he took advantage of  my good will.  When I involved my husband the job was promptly finished.  Why am i disgusted???
I learned to not use a contractor recommendation.

I put an offer on a house and they wanted to close within a month.  I had my relator schedule the appointment for the inspection.  The inspector did a great job and actually had to come out again due to the crawl space entrance not being accessible.  Overall I thought he did a great job.  Very professional and done in a timely manner.

Steve was extremely thorough.  I actually used him twice.  The first house was much older and I decided to back out of it. Not because the inspection revealed anything surprising but it did confirm what I suspected - most of the foundational expenses were beyond their time and if not needing immediate replacement, soon. I changed my mind due to expense of overall .  Steve however, spent a good 6 hours going over everything and was point on.  He found termite droppings the owner's termite inspection MISSED.  I was able to work the owners to reinspect at their cost and provide a new report (before I decided to go with a different house of course).  2nd house, Steve found a gas leak owners knew nothing of in their attic.  Was able to get that fixed at owners expense before I moved in.  All findings were thoroughly documented with photos.
I also was so impressed that Steve was so patient with all my million questions.  I had a very bad experience years before in another state where an inspector wigged out on me and didnt want to answer questions.  No matter what they were Steve answered with care.  I even called Steve a few times well after inspection for his thoughts.  He returned every call and spent patient time (not rushed and didnt act annoyed). Gave me solid advice and instruction.
I highly recommend him.

The price was fair and they were on time.

After moving into our house, we have had a plethora of problems that were not caught by Will's inspection - these range from leaks in the ceiling from the AC coils in the attic freezing over (this ended up being a zoning problem that was not identified), cracks throughout the house (which hopefully don't indicate any foundation problem, but that's still TBD), the solar pool heater not working, and several other things.  
Will is a general inspector and really doesn't have any deep knowledge of any one area.  If there are in fact problems with the house you're inspecting, there is absolutely no guarantee that he will catch them.  I truly regret using Will for the inspection of my home.

Paul was the inspector for this inspection.  My real estate agent was about 30 minutes late and Paul was very patient and pleasant as we waited to gain access to the condo.  The inspection itself was very quick and efficient.  Paul moved through the condo with attentive focus while I went about my business taking measurements of the rooms, etc.  Prior to beginning the inspection, he asked if I had any particular concerns and the items I mentioned were first on his agenda when he got started.  At the conclusion of the inspection, he gave a list of about four minor concerns that needed to be addressed and asked if I had any other concerns/questions.  He was very responsive.  His formal detailed report was delivered that evening.  Overall a great experience, great price, and great service.  Highly recommend!

After researching numerous inspection companies, we decided to use inspection Perfection. The bid was reasonable, the inspection thorough and professional, and the final report was very detailed.  Paul, our inspector was very congenial and responded quickly to specific questions about the report. I recommend them highly.
Will, the owner, even responded by phone to some of my concerns before the inspection. Paul did the inspection. Both were great to work with and I would call them again!

Will was prompt and started to work right away. He first asked if we had any questions before he started his very through investigation. He noticed the sellers had not ignited the pilot on the water heater but patiently waited for us to call someone. Our appointment was from 1:00pm to 5:00pm and he used every bit of our schedule time to throughly investigate our new.  When his inspection was done at 4pm, he then went through the list of "noticed" items from PRIORITY to LOWER LEVEL ISSUES.  He walked us to each and every issue and explained in detail what was wrong, how it could be remedied and what the approximate cost would be.  Thankfully, not too many issues popped up on our 2003 Home.  He emailed the FULL INSPECTION report the next day!  Would definitely recommend Inspection Perfection.  Awesome Job!

They provided a written report the same evening of the inspection!   The information was detailed and thorough.  It was great for discussions with the seller, and also as a guide for me to prioritize other projects I will need to address with the house in the coming months/years.

I did have to point out a couple of big items that were overlooked.  I think it might be because this was a property on county land that the inspector wasn't used to.
Otherwise the inspector was courteous and spent approiate time on each item.

I have bought and sold several properties over the past years and Inspection Perfection was the best and the most comprehensive house inspection service I have worked with.  I was the purchaser of the property and their report covered everything and prioritized areas needing attention.  Would definetiely use them again.45 la bon

Will Johnson was my inspector. We needed an inspection for a home purchase, and were operating on a limited time schedule. He was able to fit us into the schedule within a few days of my call. Will arrived promptly and was professional, courteous and detailed.
His inspection of the house took about four hours for a single story 3200 sq ft ranch house on a slab foundation. The extremely detailed report arrived the next day and included information on an electrical sub-panel that enabled me to negotiate a $500 credit from the homeowner! The overall report will serve as an excellent guide for my home improvements when we move in.
Will also responded quickly to some email follow-up questions I had.

We worked with Paul.  He was at the house when we arrived,  and got to work right away.  He was very informative.  Made sure we were informed of everything he found, big or small.  He was also very helpful with things that he didn't need to check.  He was a very nice guy, and was easy to talk to.  Made the experience very stress-free.  I would definitely use again, and would also refer friends and family.

Paul was excellent. On time, despite short notice (I called the day before to request an inspection), Paul came out and delivered a thorough inspection, taking the time to educate my wife an I about all the things he was looking for. He was very pleasant and personable and was easy to work with. The inspection report was easy to read and delivered quickly. Top marks all around, no hesitation in recommending them.

I was able to get an appointment date that was only a couple days later, which was very important to us because we needed to get all this done before our inspection contingency date occurred. I was told on the phone that it was customary for Inspection Perfection to only schedule one inspection a day, so that was another reason that I was pleased with the turnaround time. Will was very courteous from the initial phone call to my follow-up email about his energy-efficiency audits. He was nothing but professional and thorough. The inspection took a little over 4 hours total. He allowed us to ask him questions, and he showed us any issues that he found with the house. He would explain them in layman's terms that even I could follow! He took pictures and made notes along the way. I was also happy to find out that our real estate agent had worked with him previously as well. Home and pool inspection cost us $515 - $25 Angie's List coupon, totaling $490. This is a little on the higher end of inspection prices, however you *do* get what you pay for.
The report that was provided arrived via email within 48 hours of the inspection. It was extremely thorough and included pictures of the issues he saw while inspecting the house and the pool. It was very easy to follow, with sub-headings according to the severity of the problem. It is going to be very helpful in our repair negotiations with the seller.
I strongly recommend the use of Inspection Perfection. In fact, I plan to hire Will again for a home energy-efficiency audit once we are in the house!
