Computer Repair
This company was recommended by a computer repair shop after our lap-top's hard drive crashed. The shop could not recover any data from the drive, but they said that with a "clean room" service, it should be possible. HDO quoted us $2500 for the drive repair and data recovery. If no data was recovered, there would be no charge. They estimated about a week to get the parts and do the work. It took them seven weeks to give us a final estimate once they located parts for the drive. At this point the price escalated to $4500. They said that the cost was higher than expected as the drive had already been opened by another data recovery service first. This was not true. We felt that the service was very slow and too expensive. We could not recommend this service and will be looking for a better company. The only good thing is that they did not charge us for the initial assessment of the work needed.
