"This member bought a pre-paid maintenance from Angie's list Storefront for $98 (paid through Angies List; not through Guthrie and Sons). Upon arrival, our tech found that his 50+ YEAR OLD FURNACE was unsafe for use and had several code violations and which prevented us from being able to perform the work. I understand this customers frustration with this, however, It is our company policy to NEVER work on a furnace that is deemed unsafe for our customers. This is absolutely our #1 responsibility as your HVAC provider. We feel most of our customers understand and respect that our highest priority is our customer's safety and well being. We recommended that he replace the 50+ year old furnace and to work out a refund with Angie's List. We have notified Angie's List business center and have made several phone calls and attempts to both him, his wife and Angie List to help expidite his refund."
