Green Life Studios

We hired Green Life Studios to create a design plan for a complete renovation of our landscape and implement that plan.
The process was very smooth. DeeAnn and Alan spent a lot of time with us walking around discussing what we wanted and studying our property. We were shown many pictures of plants to determine what we liked and disliked. DeeAnn created a beautiful design that really captured our vision for our outdoor space. The design worked with our existing hardscape and added some new features that tied the entire design together.
The design phase took a few weeks to complete with a couple of revisions to get everything just right. At that point we received a quote for the job and then the demo and installation began.
All of our existing plants and trees were removed, the soil was reworked and amended, new underground irrigation installed, three large trellises, a raised kitchen garden bed and 3 stone pathways were built, all new plants, trees and groundcover were planted and everything finished off with mulch. The install took two weeks to complete and was done on time and as described in the quote without any hassle or additional cost.
After the landscaping was complete, DeeAnn and Alan came by many times to check on the plants and adjust the watering schedule. A few plants died but were replaced quickly without any problems. Green Life has continued to check in and see how things are doing even months after the job was completed and we know help is only a phone call or email away if any problems develop.
After having two bad experiences with other landscape companies, we were very pleasantly surprised with Green Life Studios. Throughout the project they were professional and pleasant to work with and they have real passion for the work they do. We love our new landscape and have received many compliments. From beginning to end Green Life Studios handled our project professionally, courteously, and with a great deal enthusiasm and concern for creating landscaping that pleased us.The first phase of the project, design, began with an in depth online interview in which we provided information that scoped out the project and identified our preferences. Following that Green Life Studios spent many hours proposing different overall designs; plants; trees; and construction materials such gravel, decomposed granite, boulders, flagstone, and quartz patio stone. Pictures and samples of all items were presented. We were quizzed about likes and dislikes on color schemes, plant types, projects that we liked, and projects that we didn't like. Drawings and other design documents were created for our review and modification as we desired. During this phase Green Life Studios presented many excellent ideas we had not even considered, but adopted per their suggestions. Due to our own indecision about what we wanted, the time we spent exploring materials, looking at completed projects, etc., the design phase took about 5 months. We were never rushed to provide final input and Green Life Studios invested considerable additional time to help select materials, including meeting us at KRC Rock to help choose boulders, gravel, and patio stone.
Demolition and construction began in July and was completed on time: about two weeks. This is messy, but each evening the days mess was cleaned up. As the project progressed we requested some changes: these were handled with Change Orders that delineated what would be changed and the exact cost. Never were there any delays, extra (hidden) costs, or misunderstandings about what was being constructed.
At the conclusion of construction Green Life Studios provided a plant list with pictures; an irrigation map; and instructions for quarterly care, and maintenance. Several followup visits were made to adjust the irrigation, check on plant growth, and make a few decorative changes. Some of the plants did not fair well because of unexpected conditions in our area. Green Life Studios replaced them, free of charge, with better suited plants which are now thriving well. We've seen a lot of adequate do-it-yourself (DYI) landscaping projects and we've performed several ourselves. But, we had no idea that this professionally designed and implemented landscaping project would turn out to be far superior to any DYI we've ever seen or tried. We are extremely pleased with the results and with the wonderful people at Green Life Studios.
