One time there was a miscommunication and the cleaners were no-shows. Once I contacted them, the company quickly got people out here to do the job even though they have been at another place all day. Very responsive in that situation, and one of the girls that arrived did a very good job.
The fact that I could never get the same GOOD cleaner on a regular basis is why I quit them in the end. Their customer service is excellent, but the inconsistency in their cleaners (some were super slow and not very thorough) was too frustrating for me to continue using their service.

Shocked, as any reasonable person would be, that my actual price was almost 2x the quoted price, I called to express my dissatisfaction. A gentleman, who I believe is the owner, had no explanation. Their computer and it's "very sophisticated algorithm" kept telling them 3.5 hours for $211. He could not tell me why they spent so long and charged so much extra, but did say they haven't had any complaints about the pair of cleaners that had been sent, and the house must have needed extra attention. It's not a Hoarders episode, my parents are actually really tidy and the house was professionally cleaned only a month prior, so kind of hard to believe. The best offer he could give me was to credit me 1 hours' worth of work for my next cleaning, worth $60. I spent $179 more than I had intended, $60 doesn't do me much good, especially when I don't plan to call them for service again.
I was assured they don't do the "bait and switch", but that's exactly what I got. I feel cheated, and think it's highly inappropriate to low-ball an estimate, then jack up the price by dawdling and doing more than what was requested. I'm hiring someone else

The service did take longer than expected, however, the cleaners did get approval from the homeowner, presumably your father, for the extra time and cost. We never, ever charge a higher price without approval from the customer. And while our industry seems to be rife with practitioners of the 'bait and switch', we certainly do not participate in or condone that practice. Golden Shine was overall fine until the following occurred:
- I specifically requested a crew for a cleaning after trying several different crews.
- They booked me with that crew but then sent a DIFFERENT crew that I specifically requested that they don't send back.
- Then I tried more time with the team I liked and they cancelled on me at the last minute right before my Mother-in-Law was coming in.
It was a total disaster. I think they got new ownership? In any case, I found a new cleaning agency that weekend and never went back.
Carpet cleaners seemed to do a good job, so that experience was fine.
Would not use Golden shine again nor recommend them. It sounds like they have several different individuals and groups who they pull from and I'm sure some of them are fine, but if you can end up with a group like this then it's not worth it.
Kristina called me about 10:30 & said it would be more work than they expected, & would be done about 12:30. No problem.
About 11 the carpet cleaners called and said they were running early, could they come at 12:30 instead of 3? I called Kristina & she said that should be fine.
I got there about 12:15, the carpet cleaners were already there, and Kristina & Jared were finishing up. It was clear that they had worked really hard; the place looked & smelled great. Even though they don't officially wash the outside of windows, they did the outside of the sliding glass door on the balcony. I did find a few scrapes on the wall I asked them to go over, and to also wipe down the vertical blinds. They also reinstalled the fire alarm that I had replaced the battery in. Everything was sparkling, they made the best out of a bad situation (especially in the kitchen & bathroom). They really earned their money. It got a little hairy there at the end as the carpet cleaners were trying to come in as K&J were hauling out their stuff, but K&J never complained, even though they had worked really hard and were a little pressured at the end.
The carpet cleaners were fine; once they were in it took about 40 mins. The white carpet looked clean on my last inspection, but since I was turning over the keys that afternoon, I didn't stick around for the carpet to dry & inspect it closely. They seemed professional & prompt.
Upshot: we got the full deposit back; the landlady said another tenant moved into that apartment & reported that it was spotless. Yay!
