Everything was layed out and written up prior to the start so I knew what would be done. They gave me a lot of consultations that helped me decide what would be best in my bathroom. The work done was high quality and they were done very fast for all I had done. They kept the work areas clean and organized. I would definitely recommend them for anything.

What was remarkable about working with Shawn and his crew was how well they communicated, their reliability (showed up on time every time), the respect they showed to my home and to me, and the integrity they placed on their own work. For example, after a grab bar was installed in the wrong place, Shawn and Steve took immediate steps to relocate it in the proper place. Any other small change I requested was fixed.

We are very impressed with Coastal Remodel. From the beginning stages Shawn has always been very communicative and quick with responses. He was always on time and his team moved quickly while also paying attention to detail.. They did an awesome job and would recommend them to anyone looking to do home improvement projects!

We hired Shawn to renovate the first floor of our house (roughly 2000 sq ft). The work sent from September 2022 through February 2023 which felt painfully slow as the renovation did not entail a floor plan change. Iâ ll start with the good. Shawn is polite, well intentioned, and easy to talk to. He also had two subcontractors that did their job well: his tile guys and the painter. Thatâ s where the compliments end. Iâ m not sure where to begin to describe just how bad the level of craftsmanship was when they were done with the job. So many corners were cut. Starting with the kitchen, every cabinet and drawer is slightly off in alignment. Shawn indicated that this is just how cabinets look, but I never got used to just how much the drawers and cabinets would shut with a wobble or not close completely. The gaps between the doors are inconsistent throughout the kitchen. It really does look like a teenager installed everything. Over the course of the last year, a lot of the work has fallen into disrepair and more mistakes have come to light. For example, the dishwasher was not installed very well and now moves around. Shortly after construction was done, I also noticed some chips on the edges of the countertop that could not have been made by us since we hadnâ t even used the kitchen that long. The islandâ s wood paneling is horizontal on one side while everywhere else the grain is vertical. We had agreed upon an island that would be 110 inches wide. He ended up installing an island that was only 100 inches wide. many of the hooks in the bathroom were not properly anchored or screwed into studs so they popped out and weâ ve had to reinstall them over the last few months. Even the faucet in the bathtub pops out with a gentle pull because it was not installed properly. There were also mistakes along the construction process such as Shawn removing a bathtub and toilet that he was not supposed to. When the mistake was brought up, he agreed to discount the construction up to a couple hundred dollars for the bathtub and $150 for the toilet, respectively, rather than the true value of the original bathtub (cast iron) and toilet that he had improperly demolished. We also had to ask them back twice to finish the work after they claimed they were done since they left glaring issues behind (eg a 2 inch hole in the drywall next to a light switch) despite all the issues that were still there after their second visit, I was so done with them. I just let them go since I knew this was as good as they were going to be admit I was somewhat surprised when Sean asked me to hire him again when I was ready to remodel the second floor, despite the fact that He had done such a poor job. The worst part about all of this is that weâ ve come to realize that there were far better options for far less money. Like I said at the start, Shawn was a nice guy, but the quality of work for the prices he charged is a ripoff. I noticed that there are number of positive reviews on here which makes me wonder why our situation was such an anomaly. .

Shawn and his team are so awesome! They are thorough, knowledgeable, professional, kind, and fun to work with. We hired Shawn and his team to completely gut and redo a full bathroom. The work is outstanding, and we are so so happy with the final product. Shawn, Steve, Scott, and the rest of the team are true artisans. We hired Shawn to remodel our two bathrooms last fall (recommendation came from my husband's boss). He communicated in a timely manner to let us know what the next step was in our project. I hired this construction team to demolish and completely rebuild a kitchen and bathroom. The team is exceptionally skilled, courteous, polite, works clean and above all keeps their promises. They return calls, meet deadlines and live up to their end of a staggered pricing schedule. Any modifications or extras were clearly discussed ahead of time and the project went without a hitch! Coastal Design Remodeling renovated our entire home, 4 baths, a kitchen, floors and tearing down walls. We absolutely felt that we were in good hands with CDR all along the way. My husband and I still talk about how grateful we are that we decided on Shawn and his team! He was available almost any time we needed to reach him over phone or text. It felt good knowing he was only a text away should problems arise. Cleanliness This was our first remodel, and we were told renovations were both stressful and very, very messy. So we prepared ourselves as we lived with our children amongst the demolition up to final reveal. The team did an excellent job mitigating and sequestering our family from the dust and debris by sectioning off their work areas and cleaning up/ vacuuming every day before they left. Quality of work The quality of the work is fantastic. Any issues we had with quality were handled promptly and appropriately, and there were very few if any surprises . We absolutely love the finished product and enjoy hosting people in our home again! Honesty The team of workers were very trustworthy and we felt comfortable going about our daily routine of work and kids while they were around. Shawn was an upright guy and collected fair payments along the way. There was no fear of him abandoning us, something I truly worried about when scouting contractors. I honestly couldn t imagine having gone with any other contractor for our remodel. This project couldn t have gone any smoother than it did and I am so grateful that we hired Shawn and his team for our entire house remodel!

We had 2 bathrooms to remodel, so after interviewing and receiving 5 quotes (we have been burned before from another company, so we were especially careful this time), we decided to go with CDS and we were glad we did! Shawn Murphy and his team did a great job with these projects, and completed both bathrooms in 4 1/2 weeks. Shawn is a wonderful communicator, and kept his team and us informed along the way. His team was very skilled and wanted to do the best job possible. They were courteous and I felt comfortable leaving my home while they worked. They also ended up repairing the mistakes from the previous company we had hired. Shawn has great expertise in this field, and was very prompt in getting back with us with any questions or comments we had. It is easy to tell that he values his team. He is professional, friendly and personable and has great attention to detail. He would inspect the work being done along the way, and did a thorough final walkthrough at the end. Told me it would be a 3 week job, and it took 5 months. Rarely on time, a lot of no call no shows for days of work. Workmanship was alright, despite issues with subcontractors. Final product was okay, and the carpenter that he used was excellent. He never wrote anything down, so I had concerns. Also, never did a final walk through with me, and so I was basically just done with it. His organizational skills were pretty weak.

Bought a fixer and had Shawn and his team remodeled the whole house, 4 bedrooms, 2 �� baths and a kitchen. There was drywall (refloating whole house), knocking down a wall, moving electric, all new doors and baseboards. The kitchen and 2 bathrooms were taken down to the studs and completely redone. I was very pleased with the bidding process and how Shawn communicated with me though out the job. He was always professional with me and gave me realistic timelines. He also had good places for me to go look at stone, chose cabinets, etc and gave me good advice and ideas when I was stumped. My house looks amazing and would recommend him.

Shawn is amazing at keeping you calm and positive throughout the project and will make a very stressful event as fun as it can be. We had a complete kitchen overhaul, including removing walls, done by Shawn and his team. From the start he was engaged in our home and treated us better than just being his next customer. We started the project with a certain design in mind, and Shawn came in with ways to make it better that other contractors couldn't offer us when getting bids. At times it felt he was more excited about our house than we were.
