The service was okay. We had some trouble with the first appointment. Because the technician arrived very late. [01:06]  he act for like ten minutes and then he just left, then we make another appointment. So the second appointment goes smoothly, but then I just receive a invoice of statement last week saying that I owe them $1700 and then I called yesterday speaking to the manager I said I just do [01:41] and the check ups to see if there is nothing else is wrong and we signed with a balance zero, how could I have a $1700 deal. The service is okay but probably I won't purchase that big deal next year.

They sent someone out, it was supposed to be $54 for the service call.The guy came out he was fairly nice. He took a look at the system, and took some temperature readings. He started talking to me, and said we were low on coolant. He said I would need 4 or 5 gallons or coolant. I ended up paying $243 plus $54 for everything.He said I had another problem with the system, and he needed to go back to the office and check and see if they have the part because it's so rare. That evening, he called and said they have the part, and he can come on Wednesday and can do the work for $800. I didn't know what to do, because it was so sudden and so expensive. I called up the company and spoke to the boss and told him that I wanted to wait on the service. I asked him to have the Tech call me up, and give me an itemized report for the newly needed service. I never heard from the company again. I spoke to my friend who works in the business, and he told me I was screwed over. He said I probably didn't even need the service. It's important for me to be able to access companies and information online where I can get someone that I can trust. I have a A/C that works, and I spent way too much on this. I picked the number one company on the list and that's what I got from them.

Carini was excellent-from sales to installation. We are enjoying our new A/C. The job required research, creativity and planning since it is 45 year old house that was never meant to have air conditioning. Their sales rep, Kurt, is experienced as an installer and was definitely more knowledgeable than anyone from the other companies we received estimates from. His game plan made the most sense and was reasonably priced. In fact he was the only one who did not try to sell me on a new furnace and explained that my current furnace should last several more years versus the competition which was insisting that I'd be better off buying a new furnace since my current furnace was about 14 years old (Kurt added that the current furnace could be repaired if it did start giving me problems). Kurt came the day of installation to show the lead technician, Mark, how he envisioned the install to go. That made me feel good to know that the installer wasn't going to be improvising. Mark led a crew that came on time, confirmed the plans would work, and did the installation. They overcame a lot of hurdles including a small furnace closet, limited space for a condenser on the side of the house and attic access challenges. The job was finished ahead of schedule. Mark explained the system to me, and the house was left very clean. I highly recommend Carini, Kurt, and Mark as the lead technician.

This was routine maintenance. The tech was very informative and gave me a lot of insight on our unit. It just took too long. He initially said it would take 45 minutes. It took twice that. I learned a lot, but my time is important to me.

Work was done professionally and expert advice was given. Anthony was very courteous and knowledgeable. I will gladly recommend Carini.

Everything went extremely well. My husband said they were very detailed, patient and friendly. He mentioned that the technician even went above and beyond and stayed a little longer to help get this one thing completely fixed. We are very happy.

Overall I thought the experience went well. The install looks very professional. There were some delays due to one of the condenser units having a logic board failure upon installation that took a little over a month to be rectified. It is my understanding that the part was ordered 3 times before they received the correct part. The technician assured me that they were giving the supplier the correct ordering information; I have no reason not to believe them. All and all I am enjoying my units now that it is summer time. One of the condenser units has a condensation pump in the attic that can be loud at times. I may call Carini back to check if they have a solution that would alleviate the noise coming from the attic. 

Up front summary - I found Carini Heating and Air Conditioning to be very courteous, very professional and very expensive! I used a $69 Angie's List deal to have Carini visit my home for an Air Conditioning Tune-Up. I recommend this service as San Diego begins to reach high temperatures and increased running of AC. Carini Service Technician Anthony D. arrived on time for the scheduled appointment. Anthony immediately impressed me with his courtesy, professional knowledge and desire to educate me (the customer) on AC system operation. Anthony had a complete set of AC diagnostic tools. He quickly identified the AC system was not cooling properly due to insufficient levels of R-22 freon. This didn't surprise me as it had been a few years since freon had been added. What did surprise me was Carini's high prices quoted to fill the refrigerant: $215 for the first pound and $89 for each subsequent pound. Also surprising is that Carini only charges in full pounds. Therefore if you require 1.2 pounds you are charged for two pounds... I really do not understand this pricing policy. I approved the service as I didn't want to make another service call. Anthony added the refrigerant and now our AC unit cools much more efficiently. Kudos to Anthony D. for very professional service but some negative marks to Carini for a prohibitively expensive pricing policy.

They were ready to come out whenever I wanted them to. I would absolutely use them in the future. The technician came out and he was excellent. He went out of his way to explain the system to me. He explained why things work and what's going on when I'm seeing this and that. He was excellent. I would ask for that guy specifically next time.

We use Carini Heating and Air because of their dedication to quality, service and
educating the customer.
Anthony did a fine job .He arrived on time , was skilled, knowledgeable ,and personable.
You can tell he truly cares about his work.
I appreciated the way he explained the work he was doing
 in terms that I could understand.
He added refrigerant to the AC.
He diagnosed and fixed a problem that was in  wiring
in the interface between the heating unit and ac unit.
 (That wiring had been improperly installed by a different AC company - not Carini.)
We feel lucky to have found a  trustworthy company for our heating and ac needs.
 

It worked out really well.
