CARDENAS CUSTOM UPHOLSTERY

I called Robert after finding excellent recommendations on Angie's List. He reupholstered our sofa (78" long x 35" deep, with 3 loose back cushions), picking it up from our old home and delivering it to our new home. He was very efficient. When he first arrived he brought a few fabric books (I'd told him I wanted to recover in medium blue) and I found a fabric I liked from those books. A day or two later he called and told me my chosen fabric was on back order, and since I didn't want to wait for the fabric to arrive, I went to his shop and picked out another fabric. Actually, I like the second fabric better -- so I would recommend going to his shop to select a fabric. (Or, you could go elsewhere or online and select a fabric and then let him know what it is.) He gave me good advice re fabric selection. He and his staff did the work very quickly and the sofa looks really beautiful. He invited me to see it in his shop before delivery, which was a good idea. My only quibble was that the arm protectors and one topstitched seam of each of the two throw pillows had been stitched with a thread that wasn't a good match for the fabric and was quite visible. He readily agreed and re-did them right away before delivery the next day. I'm extremely pleased with the work, with Robert's accessibility, and with his flexibility. I plan to use him for other projects.

Overall, I am extremely satisfied, with a few hesitations which are: He did not provide a written estimate nor leave a receipt for the chairs he took. He had limited samples (3) of fabric. His price was quoted at $450 but turned out to be closer to $590.00. I did not object as it was still a reasonable price. He was prompt, business-like and did a good job. I would use him in the future but I would get a written estimate up front.

They had lots of sample books at their store to choose from. They loaned me several books to look at in the room where the chair is. They came to our house the same day I called to say we had chosen the fabric, took the chair with them and returned it one week later(Thanksgiving was part of that week). The chair looks and feels brand new. We were unable to find a foam mattress of the dimensions we needed locally or on the web. They got the piece from their supplier and wrestled it into the cover that the old mattress was in.

Robert came and gave us an estimate first. He arrived on time and with a huge pile of fabric samples. His fabric prices are similar to UFO and other wholesale, and as he had many samples we liked, there was no point in going elsewhere for fabric. His labor costs were half of other companies we had asked for quotes. He took the chairs and estimated that they would be ready on Dec 15, about 3 weeks. They were actually delivered on Dec 16th and the job is fantastic! Highly recommended. We will be asking him to do more work for us in future.

Very good experience. Free pick up and delivery. They gave me an estimate of 2 weeks and the couch was done several days before that. I told Robert about the fabric I'd seen in another store. He went and picked up the fabric and passed along his discount. Overall price was very reasonable and the couch looks wonderful. Highly recommend them.

Great experience and excellent quality of their work.

The work was excellent; the seams are neat, and the cover fits the table well. They have a problem with customer communications. It took two calls to get an appointment to select the fabric and two trips before picking up the cover. I did get a discount because I had such trouble picking up the cover.
