She took the colors from my master bedroom to help me plan the color scheme for my master bathroom. I wanted the bathroom to follow ADA requirements, and Marie is very knowledgeable in this area. Marie even picked me up at my home to pick out the bathroom tiles and to pick out my vanity top. She is very detail oriented and kept the job on schedule and within my budget. Performed a living room/kitchen and master bath remodel. Marie and Charles did an excellent job, and provided solutions when there were challenges with our older home. They have good subs who they manage well and have very high standards for workmanship. They are mindful of minimizing disruptions. They are business minded, but fair and have integrity.

"We are so happy with our remodel and feel very lucky having worked with Charles and Marie! We heard nightmare stories from friends and co-workers about their remodels using other contractors - such as delay after delay which cost them money, poor quality and workmanship, poor communication, taking on too many projects at one time, and unmeasurable frustrations - we were very careful about selecting contractors when it was our turn. Friends of ours selected Charles and Marie for their remodel and we were so impressed hearing about their experience working with CairnsCraft that other friends in our group used them also. One word of advice, to keep everything on time, YOU as the client will need to respond quickly when they are requesting input. This was a little difficult as my husband and I both work a lot, but we traded off, back and forth, and worked with Marie to keep things moving. We recommend CairnsCraft and would definitely use them again!"

The bathroom/laundry room remodel was our second project with Cairns Craft and once again we were completely satisfied with the entire process. The job involved moving walls, plumbing, and electrical which involved coordinating and scheduling numerous sub-contractors. Thanks to their attention to detail and meticulous planning the scheduling went off without a hitch and the job was finished ahead of schedule. We will certainly use CarinsCraft for any future construction projects we have.

Great. The kitchen remodel was so good that I hired Marie and Charles for my master bath. Marie is great to work with, very prompt. We did all of the work long distance and it worked out really well. Marie always sent lots of pictures and videos during the process. I am extremely pleased with the results of both the kitchen and bath. In both cases they ran into problems after demolition with "surprises" in the walls. Maris was good at finding solutions and it was always resolved to my satisfaction. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again.

We recently hired Cairns Craft Design and Remodel to remodel three bathrooms in our home. So far, two of the three bathrooms have been completed, and we are thrilled with the outcome. Marie and Luz did a great job with the design - they listened carefully to our preferences and helped us to narrow the options. Shopping with them for materials was streamlined and efficient, and we love the final choices we made. The construction process has also gone very smoothly. Charles and Marie manage their excellent team of subcontractors closely. The work quality is excellent, and our house is left clean at the end of each day. The different subcontractors are scheduled such that there is always work progressing, frequently ahead of schedule. Charles and Marie keep us updated at all times on the status of the project and respond quickly to any questions. We would definitely hire Cairns Craft again and are excited to see the final completed bathroom soon! Update: Our master bath has now been completed, and we are so happy with the outcome! Charles and Marie continued to be wonderful contractors, and worked closely with us to finish every final detail.

"From the first meeting to our last, Charles and Marie never ceased to amaze me. Their expertise and vast knowledge and great suggestions were invaluable throughout the remodel. I do want to give a shoutout to Marie, this lady works hard and really cares. She not only maintains the schedule, she will come to prep before the crew comes, and will then clean up after. I can’t say enough about the great experience we had with Cairns Craft, they were wonderful to work with. Very thorough, attention to details, and stayed on budget. We are in love with our master bath remodel and so appreciative to Charles and Marie for such great quality work. Our remodel included a complete gut of old bathroom. A new rimless glass shower (with a hidden drain), a new freestanding modern tub with a floor mounted fill faucet. Replaced a two sink 80” vanity with a tall cupboard on the end with a long 100+” double sink custom made vanity. A soffit was added above sinks to fill in where tall cupboard was, and now to frame the large mirror. Electrical was added for three sconces in mirror, and three new recessed lights. Most of our plumbing was moved for the new design and all went smoothly. We had two walls tiled from floor to ceiling, and a wainscoting throughout on other walls. After interviewing several contractors, I am so glad that I chose CairnsCraft. Working with Marie, Charles, their design team, and all their subcontractors has been a real pleasure. With Marie as the head of the “team,” my 1980 condo was completely transformed into a beautiful and modern home. It went very well. They were very prompt and patient when we kept making changes to our plans. They gave us good advice about how to maximize our living space and their work was very skillfully completed.

Charles and Marie were very thorough every step of the way. When Charles had the estimate for the first part of the project (the enclosure), he delivered it in person and went over it in detail. He responded to all questions in person or via email quickly, and paid attention to how the planning/permitting process was going to help stay on top of when the work would be able to be done. We had some back and forth discussions about the second part of the project (the new loft), but they worked with us to figure out how to keep the cost within our scope, which we were grateful for since we preferred to work with the same company for both projects.
The projects, as I assume most remodels do, ran into a few snags along the way, with some additional research needing to be done once a few assumptions from the plans turned out not to hold water after work started, but Charles worked with the firm who had drawn up the plans and the city inspectors to determine the extent of the issue and whether additional work was needed (thankfully not). All along the way, they kept us informed about the process and were quick to schedule the appropriate inspections (and follow-up inspections when different inspectors kept requesting different things) and follow through on their requirements.
They and all of their subcontractors who worked on the project were friendly, professional, conversational without becoming distracted from work, and some definitely went above and beyond (e.g., painting beyond where the work was actually done just to make it look nicer, going well beyond our own level of fastidious in making sure paint colors matched other nearby areas of the house, cleaning everything that was even slightly affected by dust from the work, etc). We will not hesitate to work with them again the next time we are planning to make any changes in our home.

I found them on Angie's List. Marie and Charles do it all and do it well! They listened very well and understood my goals. They offered several designs and gave the most detailed estimate. They worked with me on every aspect from creating a design to selecting the accessories for a brand new bathroom. They were on site or checked in every day, sometimes working alongside their workers. They answered calls promptly and kept me informed of progress. Their workers are very professional and cleaned up every day before they left. So impressed was I that in the midst of the bathroom construction, I added a second major job of central air and heat. I am a very happy customer.

Marie and Charles Cairns did an absolutely wonderful job. They quickly responded to my first call. They gave me a free estimate and provided several design options. I had already developed a pretty good sense of what I wanted but Marie and Charles worked well with me to optimize space and accessibility. I am only 3 feet tall and do most tasks from my wheelchair. I wanted to have a kitchen that worked well for me but could also be used by average height individuals. They came up with innovative ideas that have not only allowed me to cook entirely on my own but also created a beautiful space in my home. Special attention was made to maintain the feel and design of the kitchen representative of the 1920s. All at a price that was very reasonable and well below other estimates that I had previously obtained. Marie did an excellent job to ensure I was getting my supplies and appliances at the cheapest possible price. They began the job quickly and relatively on time. They were very conscious about the fact that they were in my home for approximately 3 weeks and did everything they could to minimize the intrusion and disruption that a complete kitchen remodel can impose. They responded quickly to concerns and suggestions. They keep me up to date on the progress and included me in all the decision making. The kitchen is absolutely beautiful. The professionalism of the design exceeded my expectations. This kitchen has allowed me complete independence as well as a safe workspace to cook for friends and family.
