BUDGET PAINTERS

1) They had to re-do the painting downstairs because at first he didn't think he needed to use a primer (with a dark color!), and he rolled it on instead of spraying. 2) Paint spills were all over the house. Although they did clean much of it up before they left, they did leave some paint spills on our bathroom tile. 3) The painter's wife spilled coffee on our white carpet in the master bedroom. I noticed it and asked about it...the painter said, "oh yeah, my wife spilled coffee". They never brought up the incident themselves, never apologized for the accident, and didn't clean it up. Now I am left with a huge coffee stain that won't come out. 4) The paint job itself was not good. The work where the walls meet the baseboards is extremely sloppy and uneven. A really shoddy paint job. They left patches of unpainted whtie walls all over the house (by windows and doorframes). I have had to spend many hours touching up the house myself. 5) The way he works money is extremely unprofessional. When we signed the contract, he wanted x amount of money up front as a deposit, then x amount on the first day of painting, and the remainder at the end. Well, he kept needing money throughout the process, and continuously called my husband at work bugging him for cash. We ended up having to pay in increments throughout the week of painting. 6) He told us that the way he would work the painting is that he would do 2 rooms at a time...thereby allowing us to put things back each night and getting the next 2 rooms ready for paint the next day. However, they ended up working on basically most rooms during the last few days. Not the end of the world, but not what he promised when we signed the contract. All in all, I would NEVER recommend these painters to anyone. They are very inexpensive, but you get what you pay for (we learned this lesson the hard way).

THE OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS GREAT. THEY HAD PLENTY OF PEOPLE TO DO THE JOB IN A VERY TIMELY MANNER. CLEAN UP WAS PERFECT, AND I BELIEVE THEY WERE DONE AHEAD OF SCHEDULE. I RECOMMENDED THEM TO A LADY ON MY JOB AND SHE COULDN'T STOP TALKING ABOUT THE GREAT PRICE, HOW FAST THE WORK WAS DONE AND THE QUALITY OF THE WORK. HE ACTUALLY MISQUOTED A PRICE, BUT HE DIDN'T HAVE A PROBLEM WITH DOING THE JOB FOR WHAT HE HAD QUOTED ME. SEVERAL NEIGHBORS HAVE ALSO USED THEIR SERVICES.
