Because of the unique design of the house, several different possible one and two HVAC system configurations were evaluated until a completely adequate configuration was found. This involved adding a new furnace location, placing two new air conditioning units, exploring numerous crawl spaces and attics to find the most direct air flow paths, changing the overall air flow design, determining required duct and vent sizes, adding new distribution and return ducts and associated vents, and solving numerous issues peculiar to this particular home -- including electrical and plumbing issues as well as pure HVAC issues. Work was done over the period of two weeks and was done in a highly professional manner. The work spaces and home were cleaned up at the end of each day and the owner, his son and several other workers were glad to discuss what they were doing and why is was being done that way. A few small design changes and additions were made after work had begun to ensure balanced air flow into all the rooms, some at my request and others suggested by the owner. The bid prices for both a one HVAC system and a two HVAC system configuration were far less than competing bids. The work was completed on budget with a small additional charge for a few last minute changes that I requested during the course of the work.
Description of Work: Performed HVAC system evaluation, design, estimation and installation. Installed two separate furnace, coil, air filter, air purifier and air conditioning systems in a home that originally had a single furnace only. The job involved developing system specifications, selecting furnace and air conditioner models and capacities, designing a new air distribution and return duct system configuration, adding additional distribution vents as required, performing installation and verifying proper system operation. They also hauled away all previous equipment, ducting, vents, and construction debris and waste.
