David and his dad Modesto are hardworking and caring. They take the time to listen and help devise a plan to address your project’s needs and don’t flinch when you need to pivot and add something. I had gotten multiple quotes for a variety of projects and found Best Coat Painting was not the most expensive nor the cheapest estimate, but fairly right in the middle. Based on a neighbor’s positive experience with David I decided to hire his team for a LOT of projects. I hired Best Coat Painting to paint the exterior of my Grandma’s house, fix drywall and touch-up paint my condo before it’s sale and do extensive exterior renovation and remove the popcorn ceiling on Chun P’s and my first official home together. Our new house in Tierrasanta had recently been treated for termites and mice/rats in the carport. Lots of the wood trim looked like Swiss cheese! David’s Dad replaced and rat proofed the exterior doors on our carport shed, and replaced a beam that carries all the electric lines into the house that had been a rat village. They also replaced/repaired a lot of the fence that was falling apart. For the rest of our exterior work, day-to-day Antonio from their team was on site and in-charge. Antonio is very experienced in repair, was very hardworking and professional. Antonio and Chuy (another hard worker!) even sanded-down and repainted our mailbox, that originally I was going to throw out. The house now looks gorgeous and neighbors keep coming by to tell me that they can’t believe it’s the same place! I’ve already recommended David and Modesto to a dear friend and they are now helping her renovate a 3,000 sq-ft house in Del Cerro. She’s been really happy with the work too! We still have some interior work to do here - and I’ll be calling David and Modesto for it! Thanks guys!

David is a true professional and very kind. His work far surpassed my expectations. My kitchen cabinets are stunning. Without any reservation I highly recommend him. Mr friends want to use him for their kitchens.

This should have been a more positive review, which it is not. I contracted with David Hernandez/Best Coat Painting on September 28, 2020, to power wash the tiles on my RB house roof, paint the trim, clean a patio overhang, and seal the flagstone pavement. The work began on Oct. 21 and was finished on Nov. 2. Generally speaking, the work was done in a timely, satisfactory manner, and he was paid immediately. During the project, however, several roof tiles were broken and needed to be replaced. This had been anticipated and was included in the contract. Now, 4 months later this man still has not replaced the tiles. Initially, he seemed very accommodating. But he did not keep his word about replacing the tiles. His word is not his bond. When it comes to integrity, I caution future customers to beware of what this person says.

Honest, hard working paint company that doesn't cut corners. Fast and efficient. Painting project was less than we expected and they used a much higher quality of paint. Company comes HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Outstanding work on the eves of my home. David Hernandez provided a very reasonable bid. He showed up early, finished in less than 4 hours, cleaned up perfectly. You cant go wrong with this company.

David painted the exterior of my Rancho Penasquitos home. He did an outstanding job. On day one he power washed the exterior. On day two he did the masking. On day three he spray painted the stucco and on day four he painted the trimming and eves. David was very professional, the quality of his work was superb and his price was very fair. I would highly recommend Best Coat Painting.

David and his team are very professional, punctual and hard working. They restored the stucco and painted all the exterior of our house. We are very satisfied with the quality of the work and will hire them for any paint jobs We May need in the future. Excellent!!!!

Dave and Junior did a great job on my house. They prepped the house - patched, caulked and replaced trim where necessary before painting. They were very neat and took great care in making sure everything was cleaned up. My house looks great - the most attractive in the neighborhood!I would highly recommend them.

They were very friendly and punctual. I found a few areas in the texturing which did not have paint fully covered. When they removed the tape some of the texturing came off. David did fix this before the project was finished. The crew was clean and took care to keep my home clean during the project.

David Hernandez is a nice man but he needs to tighten up his review of his painter s work. They thought that they had finished the painting job on my rental home. I couldn t figure out why my gas stove would not light. They left it unplugged and shoved my dryer back into place crushing the aluminum exit device. David came back and fixed it. They got paint on the crown molding and had to return to fix that and the shelves in the closet they forgot to paint. They turned my old floor furnace up to full throttle and ended up breaking it. I had to spend $4,500. To have ASI put in a new wall furnace. Lastly, they painted the windows shut. I did not notice this until the walk through with my new tenant. I hired a professional who was rated 5 stars on Home Advisor to have a professional job done. Instead, it was very stressful and costly. I spoke to David about my impression that he needs to have a punch out list and go over it with his painters before telling the clients that the job is done. He has a good attitude and is willing to come back to resolve issues but it is such a time drain for the client and stressful.

We highly recommend David and his team. They did a very neat job preparing and painting the outside of our house. The crew obviously took pride in doing the job right. David accommodated our decision to change some of the colours during the paint job. This required repainting one area. We are very satisfied customers.

Quote was well priced. They agreed to remove bathroom hardware to paint walls. Work was done fast much faster than expected. After they left, I noticed areas of the ceiling that were left unpainted as there are marks still there. My bathroom ceiling was left unpainted so I am painting it myself. Also attachment parts for bathroom hardware were also missing. They apparently threw them away. When I asked for a reimbursement, they said they would mail me a check, but 2 months later I am still waiting for it. I called to inquire and they said they were doing me a favor removing the hardware so I shouldn't complain that they lost them. I won't recommend them to anyone and I won't use their services again.

Modesto and his crew were very professional, courteous, and tidy! I was very impressed with the hand painting of the edge - very clean work! Also they used quality paint (SW), always cleaned up and were tidy, and happily redo for touched up areas we weren t happy with. All of this for a very reasonable price. We re going to hire them again for exterior stucco painting.

Simply, these guys were amazing: communicated well, friendly, flexible, efficient and above all PROFESSIONAL I would not hesitate to hire them again or to recommend them.
