Bekker's Catering has come from humble beginnings to become San Diego's longest established and most reliable catering and event planning company. We began as Roadside Bar BQ in 1958, as a restaurant and catering company. We moved to a larger location and reopened as Bekker's Bar BQ in 1978 to accommodate our growing catering business. We have now expanded to an even larger facility in 2013, and are fully staffed and ready to cater corporate and personal events of any size. Our goal is to provide our clients with amazing meals, customized personal event planning support, spectacular presentations by professional and friendly staff, and unparalleled value.

When we asked about services and fees, we felt that costs was slowly creeping up. For example, there was extra charge to cut and serve the wedding cake.
So, based on quality of food and service that they will provide, we decided to pursue another catering company.
"[member name removed], I'm sorry that you were not impressed with our food. The reason for a cake cutting charge is that a) we have to pay staff to stay later to cut your cake. b) we provide the plates, napkins & silverware for the cake cutting. c) we tray-pass the cake to all of your guests and bus the tables afterward. It incurs an additional charge for us, so we unfortunately cannot provide the service for free. If you ever require catering services in the future, we would love the opportunity to work with you, and would be happy to have you in for another tasting, when we can hopefully wow you! Thanks!"
