Pros:
Sales staff was easy to work with and they were very helpful to make sure that we got the full rebates from Bosch that were coming to us and also helped us get some that had recently expired. We had an issue with the installer and they took it very seriously and took care of it promptly. We also had an issue with our refrigerator being given to someone else by the warehouse and our hood being mysteriously sent back. Neither of these were the fault of Appliance Alley and they rectified everything immediately for us.The customer service was absolutely fantastic.
Cons:
When we bought the applicances we did look at some models in the showroom and there were some very specific things that I wanted (like a temperature probe for the oven and all digital front, no knobs). After the appliances were installed I noticed that the oven had knobs and there was no temperature probe. We would have had to go to the next model up for the features I wanted. The salesperson at the time assured me that the model I was ordering had what I wanted. Also, the microwave door opens down like an oven which was a shock to me. When I looked on the Bosch website it turns out that you can order a unit with the door opening to the left or to the right or to the bottom. The sales person never asked me what option I wanted for the door. In all fairness, as the buyer I should have double checked all of this for myself rather than just relying on the sales person, but I still was disappointed.
When the installers came out to give me an estimate of what it would cost to install the units I was told that the kitchen was wired wrong for the oven/microwave combo. If I would have listened to them rather than investigating further myself I would have spent several thousand dollars for the re-wiring. It turns out that what we had worked just fine and we did not have to rewire. Also, I was trying to figure out how large to cut the opening in my very expensive cabinets for the oven/micro combo and they were less than helpful and gave me the wrong information. I worked with my cabinet installer to eventually figure it out. I called Appliance Alley to let them know what happened and they took it very seriously and ended up letting the installer go! So they took care of it in a very professional manner but it still meant I had to go find an independent installer for all my appliances.
Bottom line: I would use them again to buy appliances but as a smart buyer would double check everything myself before placing the final order.
Overall, a very good experience. The salespeople were knowledgeable, friendly and responsive. Pricing was fair. Delivery time was delayed a couple of days, but the installation team did an excellent and efficient job. One area for improvement: although knowledgeable about the products themselves, the salesperson did not ask us enough questions at the time of purchase to make sure we had the product we needed. Consequently, we lost some time in getting what we needed. However, we're happy with the results.
