The contract required 10% down. Nick said pay when the job was finished. Nick subcontracted the work to a Raul. It was scheduled to take 3 days. On the Monday the work was to start, no one showed until late. Tuesday workers worked all day. The subcontracted mentioned he was packing up and leaving after the work on Tuesday. He was supposed to be paid at the end of each day. I contacted Nick who intervened. I paid Nick a little over 10% to pay Raul. Nick then wanted $4,900 to pay the other charges. When the concrete & pump guys finished, Nick was no where around. His phone went to voicemail. I paid them because it was COD. The work took 2 weeks. The walls were not prepared and the color. The gray concrete went into the beige stucco of the house. One walk was not lined up correctly. The interior patio lacked one feature. Nick subcontracted someone else after Raul walked off the job to finish the job.
