Met with Keith, the owner/salesperson of the company after having met with two other alarm providers and agreed to move ahead with Alarm 2000 to upgrade the security system. We set up that they would come the following Thursday in the am, and my expectations was that they would show up in the morning and be done in about 4 hour as we had discussed and everything would work on the system.
The installer didn't show up until 10am and then part way thru the job left for another appointment or meeting and then returned to finish the job around 6pm. The next day we began to test the system and found 2 doors sensors, 2 smoke detectors, and 10 window sensors that were not communicating with the system as well as a remote sensor that was active but just sitting on the counter (that they had charged us for this wireless sensor despite the fact the wired sensor appeared to be working). We communicated with Keith about the numerous problems with the upgrade installation, and he assured us that it was important to get it fixed and that they would be at our house on Monday afternoon to rectify the problems. Monday afternoon turned into Monday at 4:57pm for Keith to call to say that there were on their way and finally showed up around 5:30pm, they then spent the next few hours connecting the 14 sensors that were not communicating with the alarm panel. Thinking that we were finished with the installation, we set the alarm only to be awoken in the middle of the night with the alarm triggered with one of the new sensors that they had installed. In this case they installed a plunger sensor (in place of a magnetic one) but did not fill the hole from the magnet so as the door moved ever so slightly the plunger sensor shifted and was activated from the empty hole in the door. By this point have given up on them being able to do quality, timely work so have fixed the issue myself.

The other 14 sensors were not installed correctly into the system the first time and required a follow-up visit to get it done correctly, and we were charged for work that was not done. Keith, actions are louder than words and if there was pride in your work then the work would have been done properly the first time.

"We are very disappointed that we failed to meet this customer's expectations. I conveyed this sentiment to the customer and offered to do whatever I could restore their faith in our service, but for reasons unknown to me, they refuse to allow us to do so. We were lead to believe by the customer when completing paperwork that only one door sensor was not functioning, but it turns out that almost half of the customer's sensors had to be replaced, making this a much bigger job than we were lead to believe. The tech arrived in the promised window of 9-11am, and he took a break for lunch, and did not leave to do another job. We will be providing service on this system for at least the next two years, and I sincerely hope that in that time we will be able to turn around this homeowner's perception of our company, as we take a lot of pride in our work!"

It was time to replace our 25 year old alarm system. After interviewing four companies, I decided on Alarm2000. I definitely made the right choice. Keith came to our house to describe the different options for hardware, services, and contracts. He answered all of our questions thoroughly and in great detail. He was patient and never rushed. It was decided that almost all of our old system was to be replaced, except the door and window contacts.
I was surprised when I found out that there was no charge for all of the new hardware (over $1,000 worth of parts), but only a two year monitoring contract, which actually cost less than our old contract.
A week later, the installer showed up right on time. I watched him install the new system, and bothered him with a lot of questions. He then programmed it and ran us through the operation of the new keypads. A few days later, we had a small glitch. I called Keith, and he had the installer come the next day and worked it out. Very timely and professional.
I highly recommend this company. They are personal, professional, and take pride in their work. Thank you Keith.

I have been working with the company for about 8-9 months. The system includes video surveillance, motion and heat detectors and monitored entry ways. The company is pretty responsive. They were able to come out quickly when we had some issues.

Everyone at Alarm2000 is courteous and competent. They all show up exactly on time. Once, when I had an appointment for 3:00, they called when they were done early to see if they could arrive at 2:30. They were never late. They generally understand their equipment. They had some trouble installing a recessed door sensor, so perhaps they do not install that particular sensor often. They ultimately installed a recessed door sensor, but not the original one they had intended to install. They also showed up with the wrong control panel, but went and retrieved the correct one when we pointed out the issue.

We found them on Angie’s List. The person who came out knew everything about the ins and outs of the alarm industry. He gave several choices and defined the difference between his services and the services of the competitors. He wasn’t pushy. We didn’t feel it in any shape or form. He seemed to have a genuine interest in what our goals were and what we were trying to accomplish with home security. We have got a great system designed personally for us. They didn’t charge us anything for the system. We had to sign a two year contract for monitoring which is about $30 a month which is like $1 a day.

Keith come to talk to me after I called the company for an estimate. He told me that based on my needs, I will pay $26.95 a month monitoring fee. If I stick on the monitoring service for 2 years, the equipments are mine and free. I think this is a very good deal. The monthly fee is based on the equipments he need to add so could vary. In installer come when I was available todays later. They are on time and the Installation took less then 2 hours. Everything works. The monitoring company called back to check to see if everything works.The price paid is the monitoring monthly fee. Keith found my previous alarm company didn't process the alarm permit when install the system. He helped to to applied for the permit with no problem.The overall experience was very good. It think price-wise it is also a very good deal. Keith is very professional and accommodating. For example, to applied for the permit, He came to my office building to pick the check to police and arranged everything for me.The think I didn't realize was the features of the keypads that installed were not exactly what I have in mind. I didn't request to change them because they works fine for my purpose and upgrade keypad will cost more that I don't especially need. Since the equipments directly related to your monthly fee, one need to make a balance between the features wanted and features needed.

The key part was having Keith come to the the house and explain everything. We had all of our questions answered and got everything we wanted as far as alarm installation in appropriate locations; for what we needed. Definitely one of the better sales experiences, no pressure; just the explanation of the system capabilities and matching it to the customer's needs. The actual installation of the system was quick. The monitoring co. is good too, very responsive and easy to work with.

Arrived on time, performed work to my satisfaction. There was a few days gap between start and finish. This was because the installer had just married and was going to Az with bride. I wasn't informed of this but there was no problem. Congratulations to the installer, I hope they have a happy life. There was a problem with the wrong camaras but Keith fixed that. post haste. Choosing a local company like Alarm 2000 was a no-brainer compared to a large national company. Without naming names - but you can imagine what company - wanted to charge anywhere from $800-1000 for the installation and purchase of the security system equipment. This price also reflects the discounts seen on the countless, wasteful coupons that show up in our mailbox constantly. Keith from Alarm 2000 comes to your home and takes the time to sit down and present your options very thoroughly - at your convenience I might add since he understands most people work and don't have time until later in the evening. Keith is very nice and really takes the time to understand exactly what you are looking to for in a security system. The cost of the equipment (which you own) and installation is $0, yes $0. The only money that Keith takes from you is a check for your first month of monitoring. You do have to sign up for a 2 year monitoring agreement. The system was installed immediately, and is easy to use. The technician is a licensed alarm system installation expert and explains your options for keypad and motion sensor locations that best suit the flow of your home. If I had to come up with any small complaint it would be that the work area could have been left cleaner as there were a few wire clippings and dust left behind. Overall not a big deal, a 2 minute clean-up for me. Well worth the trade off of an $800 installation fee I would have paid from another company.
