I told him the price wasn't enough. He knew how to fix the piano, the part that was broken in it. It was a tricky repair. He had to use special tools. He did marvelous. I told him to put me down for once a year tuning. I told him to write me down for it. There is nothing to improve on. You couldn't ask for more. I already told him to come next year.
Description of Work: He repaired my piano and he tuned it.

After talking to a number of piano repair providers I decided to work with Paul because of his problem solving approach to piano repair, professionalism and affordability. After a margarita spilled on the top of my piano causing damage to the piano strings and felt, Paul tried a few lower cost techniques to fix the piano before we decided to change out the bass strings. I appreciated his approach of evaluating these other alternatives and I knew that he was doing what was right for the customer. He was extremely dedicated to solving the issue at the quoted price even though it required multiple visits because the manufacturer sent wheels that did not match my own. I was impressed with the quality of the repair! My piano sounds like new now!

The whole process was easy peasy. I scheduled my preferred date and time through the online calendar, received a confirmation, and then a reminder email. Paul was there at the appointed time and did a great job tuning the piano.
Description of Work: After moving the piano to my daughter's house, it needed to be tuned.

Response from Accutone Piano Service
This review is identical to one I got last year. It is not true, and I contacted Angie's List about it and had it removed. Here we go again. I've never met this person, he's not in my database, I don't charge $400. I'll be contacting Angie's List again and hopefully get it removed.

Description of Work: I had my 1950 piano tuned, and Paul did a great job on the tuning. I have not actually played my piano in the three years since this initial tuning, but Paul did contact me about another tuning recently. I definitely will be scheduling another tuning in the near future with him.

Paul did arrive about an hour late, due to some scheduling problems, but he did call to let me know of the delay. He was very responsive to my many questions, and he showed me how to remove the front panels. He vacuumed out the dust inside, using my vacuum cleaner. He then spent about an hour doing the actual tuning, with extra time spent on the very highest and lowest keys. He gave me his report of the condition of this piano, which he described as having been "lavished with love" in the past. It had been refinished and some internal parts replaced/adjusted without regard to the cost. Paul charged me for the basic tuning, $125, and suggested a tuning appointment in one year. The piano now is ready for me to relearn how to play it, after a 40 year lapse. I would highly recommend Paul because he takes the time to listen and answer questions, without seeming to be in a big hurry. He know what he is doing.
Description of Work: I purchased a 1950 Lester Betsy Ross Spinet piano at a thrift store, so I had no history of its care or previous tuning. I arranged for Paul McCloud, Accutone Piano Service, to come tune the piano after it had sat in my living room for about 3 weeks after the move. Paul did a basic tuning for the piano, plus assessing the condition and vacuuming out the dust.

Paul did a good assessment of the piano and after completing the needed repairs tuned the piano. It was like playing a new piano after he was through with it.
Description of Work: Paul first repaired a broken string and adjusted the keyboard to remove the "stickiness" of some of the keys. After the repairs were complete, he tuned the instrument (a Kimball baby grand piano).
