This is a bear of a job--  The service providers came on time, moved furniture, worked cleanly and had everything back in place in a few hours. They had a great attitude and wanted to make sure that I was happy with everything. Floor looks fantastic!

This was one of the best experiences that I have ever had with any home service company.  My expectation were totally exceeded.  Steve and Tony were both professional and knowledgeable. They carefully moved furniture from my dining area and replace everything before they left.  My 20 years old Mexican Tile looks fantastic.

This company has always been great about responding when you need a quote and fantastic about getting out to do the job. I have had them out 3 times and had good experiences and in fact, Fred has worked through the years to come up with his method of what he uses on the floor customized to us, who lives here, the use of the floor, etc. and so he doesn't explain anything unless you really press him for it - he simply says he knows what he's gotta do, just like last time.  This time, however, I wanted to be sure that when he applied some color correction (stain) to some problem areas and then applied the topcoat, everything would be sealed in and the finished look of things would last.  This didn't turn out to be the problem.  It was MUCH WORSE!  We stayed off the floor for 5 days after they left - we were on vacation, so the floor couldn't have been more "left alone" and we were never told we needed to do that in the first place - we were told that floor was already completely dry and ready for use. when they left  When we returned and began to live as normal, we saw scratches from every chair being moved and from every other "normal" kind of thing that a kitchen/family room would be used for (and these chairs all have felt chairleg protectors on them) and when I called to ask why this was happening, I was told it was a mystery but they'd come out and take a look.  This went back and forth for a couple of weeks and then I switched to emails and for nearly 3 weeks I sent them a list of my upcoming week's availability for them to swing by and just see what needed to be done.  I specifically asked for them just to come by and SEE what needed to be done and then to schedule the redo work at their leisure.  I think that was pretty easygoing considering I was hoping that they would have the good faith to stand behind their work in the end.  Especially after 10 years of being our only wood floorcare company. My first email got a response that they would get back to me with a date/time but nothing happened, and I sent two more emails, weekly, with my updates schedules, which is so RIDICULOUS to have to do, and I got no response to those two emails.  Finally, I was frustrated and sent an email saying that I was disappointed that this was the culmination of a 10 year service relationship - and that still got no response.  They had no intention of coming back out.

I spent $560 for nothing.  Here's the point :  When I called to see what went wrong I was told things like "gee I don't know what else we're going to be able to DO for you but I suppose we could come and take a look...... This is a FLOORING care company.  Not carpet, not painting, but FLOORING, specifically they say they specialize in woodcare.  I'm only glad that I didn't refer them onto the 2 other friends who had been asking me for someone.  I don't have a problem with something that goes wrong....things happen, but poor customer service is not ok, this is someone's very hard-earned money, and there is the issue of trust, and many years of it, I might add.  That's what fries me.  This "relationship" had a pricetag to them of exactly $560.  They couldn't even come back to SEE what could be done.  They'd successfully serviced the floor 3 times before and just didn't care this time. And the backpeddling on the phone is not ok either.  They know the location and use of this floor. They are completely familiar with the furniture in it and it hasn't changed in 10 years.....the only thing that changed is what they did the floor and it wasn't the right thing to do this time.  THAT would have been the professional thing to say - "don't know what happened but we WILL make it right" and instead, I just got ignored and emails and phone calls, too.  A pitiful way to end a 10-year relationship.  I am all about word-of-mouth.  I absolutely LOVE passing on good vendors/contractors to everyone I know, and half the time its not because a company does a job that no one else in the universe can do, its because they know what superior customer service is and you never have to worry that they won't stand behind their work.  Not the case with this company. This may sound mean, but how funny would you find it after spending that kind of money?  Not in today's economy.  No way. I'm more disappointed than anything else. I'd always thought this company really cared about its customers longterm and I fully expected to refer them and use them in my next house.
Response from La Paz Floor Care
"I'm not about to tackle all the negative things written in the review. I'm going to instead concentrate on the other 4,000+ happy customers we have been helping keep there floors beautiful for the last 36 years. I guess in 36 years you may find 1 or 2 that just won't be happy and will write whatever negative thing they can think of."
