I wanted to review the file before I reply to ensure accuracy of the services provided. I did locate customer records for this location. I'm sorry to hear that you had issues requiring an electrician, I'm sure that was very stressful for you. Please know, we take all feedback seriously. As a part of our quality control, I researched your address and cross referenced your phone number in the phone system and our customer files. Our records show that the last time you used Four Star Plumbing was July of 2019. For your review, I have indicated all services dates and amounts charged. No of them correlate with the information you indicated in this review. Service History: July 20, 2018 for $185.00, September 14, 2018 for $160.00 September 20,2018 for $1490.00 July 23, 2019 for $185.00 July 24, 2019 for $223.00 I do not show services were provided after July 24, 2019. Additionally all of our phone calls are recorded and held in the customers file for quick reference. I researched the last two weeks of 2020 and the first two weeks of 2021. I did not find any calls regarding this property after July 2019. Please know, if services were provided and you were not 100% satisfied we would take the necessary corrective measures. My disasterous experience dates back, but all the time I have felt guilty for not revealing this to the public sooner.
I had a simple faucet leak at a rental about 40 miles away. I have repaired many of these myself, but called FourStar for convenience.
FourStar Plumbing, San Juan Capistrano, is very inept, unfair, and argumentive.

I had a simple faucet leak at a rental about 40 miles away. I have repaired many of these myself, but called FourStar for convenience.
Their first visit was 5-3-13, and the invoice reads ?disasemble cold side and re-installed?.
I phoned for an explanation, they said they cleaned it. $125. Total $350 for nothing.
Why did their plumber only clean the cold side?
Their second visit was to rework it on 9-4-13 because it started to leak again.
This time, he replaced both the cold and hot cartridges, and charged me again, without giving me credit for the first visit. $225
But their plumber (they call them technicians) made the mistake this time of leaving the old cartridges. They were old style with rubber washers, which were so worn that they were literally falling apart! These cost about 5 cents each.
If he truly removed only the cold one on his first visit, he would have installed a new washer on both sides.
It still leaked, so I called another plumber, who quickly solved the problem.
FourStar then gave me news: I should have called them back (a third time - would you?) and they would have given me credit for the previous charge. If that were true, they would have given me credit on their second visit for the 1st visit.
So for the convenience of avoiding making one 80-mile round trip to repair it myself, I had an ordeal with much extra time, expense, and two 80-mile trips.

I’m very pleased you found us on Angie's List and shared your experience regardless of the time that has passed. As always, prior to responding to feedback, we review all service records and correspondence on file for the property. It is truly disappointing when customers’ expectations just cannot be met. As it was explained over the many conversations and correspondences between us, it is difficult when working with aging fixtures. In addition, Orange County is known to have hard water issues which create heavy calcification and can disrupt functionality over the years. Our records show, you informed our office that the valve in question was more than 36 years old and had been worked on several times prior. We truly do our best when working with the aging fixtures, but it is difficult to say whether a repair will resolve the issue permanently or temporarily. Our technicians are trained to resolve plumbing issues with cost effective measures with long term results. On the original service call date May 2013, our technician was authorized ONLY to determine the cause of the leak and to report our findings to you along with our recommendations. Our policy does not permit work to be performed without prior authorization from the property owner. Since no work was performed, you were billed for a service call/ diagnostic inspection only. At which time, the repair option and replacement options were both declined by you. In September of 2013, our office was contacted by you once again, stating the leak had returned. As a courtesy, we responded quickly and arrived the same day to inspect the leak at no charge. At the time of our second of two service calls, our findings were the same as the first visit; the valve was in extremely poor condition and should be replaced for optimum results. However, you authorized only for the replacement of the cartridges. Morally and according to the California State Contractor’s Law, Four Star Plumbing warranties all labor and parts supplied by our company for 1 full year. For the protection of all our customers, this law is clearly stated on the reverse side of the invoice issued and signed for at the end of both of our service calls. I am pleased to learn that you decided to have the valve replaced and that your tenant has the use of the shower without further complication. On behalf of our entire team we truly appreciate the time you took to convey your experience on Angie’s List."

The work and installation was of the highest standards. All materials used were of high quality. The plumbers, office staff, estimates, arrival and completion times, knowledge, appearance, communication were all outstanding. All old replacement items were removed from homeowners property. All surfaces were swept, vacuumed and hand wiped. Total price was very reasonable.
I have been a home owner for 50 years and this has been the best experience with a plumbing contractor.

During the diagnostic, the plumbers noticed that our outside water valve was configured badly because some decorative exterior wall work had been built up around it, making it impossible for the valve handle to be turned to the closed position. They also pointed out corrosion on the valve. They replaced the corroded valve and turned it so that it could be turned on and off without interference from the decorative stone. They also commented that the water pressure into the house was set too high, and adjusted it appropriately.
Overall, I appreciated the high quality work in the diagnostic and the repair, as well as the extra vigilance re: the outside valve and water pressure. All four plumbers were very professional, personable and patient, and they all appeared to be very skilled. My level of trust went up with every explanation they provided and question they answered. Also, the gentleman who answers the office phone is very nice/has great customer service skills, and is great to work with re: scheduling. Scheduling was easy -- they were responsive to the fact that the leak was significant, and both teams of plumbers showed up on time.
I rated Four Star Plumbing with an "A" on everything except price, which I rated "B" because it was a big chunk of cash for me. I would hire Four Star Plumbing again, and in fact have done so for an unrelated plumbing problem.
Rob and Lou (sp?) came out to do the work. They were clean, professional, and good communicators.
Work was done exactly as described. Price was right in line with the ballpark stated over the phone by Josh. They were great about providing advice on what is needed sooner rather than later and what the options are. This was very helpful since this was mainly a detailed inspection of a home I am considering purchasing.
For work recommended but not completed they took my email address and said they will send estimates within 1-2 days.
I am very satisfied and would use them again. I love being able to find someone trust worthy locally.
They also do gas lines so I will consider them for that as well.
