CSIA Certified Chimney Sweeps have successfully completed rigorous national examinations on codes and standards and must constantly update their knowledge in order to maintain their certification. I use Chim Chimney for my real estate business to clean and inspect the fireplaces & chimneys on my listings. They provide a written report and estimates if necessary. They explain any repairs that should be made. They have always been thorough, honest and complete the work in a timely manner.  When required, we have scheduled the repairs that are needed.  They have always been fairly priced.

Keith sealed the fireplace opening with plastic to keep the living room from turning into a dust bowl. Then he went up to the roof and swept the chimney from the top. He was very diligent about vacuuming the firebox afterwards and kept the dirt to a minimum. He applied Crown Coat to protect the crown from water penetration. He then wire brushed the chimney before applying two coats of Chimney Saver, again for protection against water penetration. He offered helpful information during the three hours he spent at the house. When he was finished, he gave me a receipt which included a condition report of the chimney and fireplace. He wouldn't recommend burning firewood but said the structure would be fine for a gas insert, which is what we will be installing. Keith was very knowledgeable and experienced.

We had used Chim Chimney previously, about ten years ago also for a chimney cleaning and inspection and the same person came back this time. The work was performed as requested, neatly, at the agreed upon price, and a written report provided.

I will recommend Chim Chimney to everyone I know. Keith was able to come the day after I called despite his busy schedule. He was happy to go on the roof to get the job done right. He also explained to me how my dryer vent was constructed and how to assess when it needed cleaning again.

The proprietor himself did the work with a young assistant. Both were exceptionally neat, immediately placing pads over my rugs. They arrived right on time (maybe even a little early) and were extremely pleasant people. I had neglected to have the chimney swept last year, so they really had to work hard and they did so with no complaints. I highly recommend this company.

PROPOSED SOLUTION TO MY PROBLEM WAS FAR MORE EXPENSIVE THAN SUCCESSFUL JOB DONE BY A SECOND CONTRACTOR. THE SECOND CONTRACTOR SHOWED ME THAT CHIM CHIMNEY HAD ACTUALLY NOT CLEANED ONE OF MY FLUS. THERE WERE SOOT AND SPIDER WEBS PRESENT. SINCE THE FLU NEEDED TO BE CLEANED BEFORE THE FIREBOX COULD BE REPAIRED, THERE WAS NO TIME TO HAVE CHIM CHIMNEY COME OUT TO RE-DO THE JOB. THEY TOOK SEVERAL DAYS TO RESPOND TO MY CALLS, AND REFUSED TO REFUND MY MONEY. I HAVE USED THEM SEVERAL TIMES, BUT WILL NEVER DO SO AGAIN.
