They were really good. They do good quality work. They weren't necessarily the cheapest but I was confident in them as having the best and is the most qualified. They did a great job.

Overall, Chris was very professional, responsive and his crew does excellent work - very thorough, meticulous and clean. His guys were always on time, trustworthy and played good music. I felt the job was well managed, and required little involvement from my side. However cost-wise, C & A Builders is no bargain - it's on the very high end of the market at $75/man hour. Doesn't matter who is on the job or what they are doing - demo, material runs, or actual skilled work it's all the same price. As you'd expect for a time and materials contract there was no fire under the a**. It was a slow and steady pace, which ultimately did end up on time and on budget (but a very generous and padded budget in my opinion.) Though I can appreciate that he takes care of his guys offering benefits and vacations - so it's not all lining his pockets.
In the end, I was grateful that he took on the project, which a few other contractors wouldn't even touch - because it was such a mess to clean up the shoddy work of Mark Williams - MO/JAS Construction. But there were a couple times that I felt this was rubbed in my face and I was supposed to cow down and grovel in appreciation for taking on this "small" (and messy) project when we were paying out the nose for them.
In the case with C & A Builders you do get what you pay for and I would highly recommend them if you want a job done right (the first time).

I gathered three estimates. C&A came in quickly and it was very clear to what the charges would be. Also, the timeline was between five and six weeks. As it turns out, they were finished in five weeks. Also, they were extremely helpful keeping me wihtin budget and helping me shop for appliances, fixtures, carpet etc. All said and done, the end result exceeded my expectations.
