I was first treated rudely and in contempt as if I was a criminal. This bank has created a life-altering situation that I am not responsible for. They are in no way eager to clear it up. Contrary to their TV ads, they do not take care of their customers as they imply. I want everyone to know that taking on a bank this large is not an easy feat. They think they are in the right without any documentation, and if they made an error, they are unwilling to admit and correct it. They obviously don't care that they are ruining this senior's reputation and adding stress to my life. I live on very little income and cannot afford to be seen in such bad light. It is hard enough for us women to make it today, and I certainly don't need this in my life. One thing I must add, this is a sensitive case and all info is not available to the public, only to the mediation team that is waiting to help me. DO NOT BE TAKEN IN BY WASHINGTON MUTUAL BANKS!
Description of Work: This is a well known bank who is accusing me of writing bad checks. I have a case going on, and my legal aid attorney said the bank never sent a letter or notification that identifies the problem. I have since submitted my case to the San Mateo County District Attorney's Office, who stated that there is no fraudulent criminal action in my case. Therefore, I have not written any bad checks, but the bank insists on slamming my account and not only closed it without written notice, but reported me to the check approval agency. They refuse to go to mediation and say they have resolved the case. I have no knowledge of this, and as far as I am concerned, the issue has not been resolved. I have backup legal aid that agrees. I am entitled to some documented explanation for their actions. The bank keeps sending me monthly statements that insist I pay them back. These are generated along with all the other customer monthly reports. This is avoiding the issue.
