Gilbert Ruelas

The "vetted, rated and screened professional” assigned to do my job was Gilbert Ruelas. On that day, Gilbert came and assessed the installation of my EV Charger, and said it was a much bigger job than initially indicated, and he would have to come back with the proper materials. He closed Booking# 20330704 as if it were completed and I was charged the full $294.00 for nothing more than a 15-minute assessment. When Mr. Ruelas returned he proceeded to install the charger and I paid him $600.00 for this service. He provided me with NO official receipt or warranty, only a hand written one and that was because I asked him for something. AND--Mr. Ruelas informed me that he was NOT a "vetted, rated and screened professional” but merely a handyman who did electrical jobs with no professional association. Shortly after he left, I found that the charger did not work—the breaker tripped every time I tried to charge my car. I called Gilbert and he did come back and said he needed to do more work with additional materials. I AGAIN paid him $600.00 for these services. Later I found that my EV charger worked, BUT my spa jets were no longer working. Both spa and the charger run on 220 so whatever Mr. Ruelas did was connected. When I informed Gilbert of this issue, he promised to come and fix it three different times, and he NEVER showed up. I finally realized that he was never coming back, and I had been ripped off a total of $1,494.00. I was able to hire an actual professional electrician who solved the issue in less than one hour, AND, we discovered that not only was Mr. Ruelas’s wiring all wrong, Gilbert had also installed the EV Charger incorrectly and it was not operating at full power like it was intended too. In short—Mr. Gilbert Ruelas is NOT a "vetted, rated and screened professional”, and not only did he not do the job correctly, but he did this earning $1,200.00 from me, and whatever you paid him for Booking# 20330704. Because of this nightmare experience I will never use HomeAdvisor/Angi again and I will not recommend HomeAdvisor/Angi to anyone—ever. Also, if you are serious about your Happiness Guarantee, I would like to have my $294.00 for Booking# 20330704 refunded to me. Additionally, you should probably take Gilbert Ruelas off your "vetted, rated and screened professionals” list.
