The 65.00 was for the policy owner's portion of the service call; the warranty company paid the balance to Better Flow but I'm not sure how much they paid.
The snake they used was to clear the main sewer pipe from the house to the street. They said their long snake was too heavy to bring up the slippery driveway so they used a shorter one. After only going as far as the snake could travel (halfway to the street), a couple of tiny roots came up but the pipe was still clogged. They suggested putting a camera down there and then dig down to the pipe and install a new one but that would cost well over a thousand dollars. Another option would be to use a hydro jet but they didn't think that either service was covered by the warranty company and left with the drain still clogged.
I contacted the warranty company and though the camera and digging was not covered, hydro jet service was covered. I then called Better Flow but they were not sure they could rent the hydro jet equipment. Unfortunately, Better Flow Plumbing then called the warranty company on their own and told them that they had unclogged the pipe and hydro jet service was unnecessary. Don't trust this company!
