POSITIVES:
They found the leak and marked it clearly. They took their time and seemed to really hone in on the leak source and even noted where the pipe curled and ran. They didn't rush through it and seemed thorough (but it turns out they missed something...see last paragraph).
NEGATIVES:
I was unhappy with the lack of professionalism. There were 2 guys. They didn't put down drop cloths on our new laminate. Laminate scratches easily. They had hard cases for their equipment, and dragged them on the laminate at least 2-3 times. My husband was furious, but we didn't want to say anything because we wanted them to do a good job and finish the leak detection (we like to avoid possibly ticking someone off before the work is done unless it's severe damage).
At some point while working, they raised their voices (albeit slightly) and cursed profusely. This is inappropriate and shows a lack of respect and consideration to us as the customers. This isn't your home, it's MY home. I do NOT need to pay for angry men to come into MY home and whine about their job. If you hate your job or something goes wrong or you have to work harder, I should not have to PAY to hear about it. None of it's MY fault, so keep it to yourself. You guys can vent to each other when you leave, but it's unprofessional to do it in my house. Just do the work.
So what was all the cursing about? I kept waiting for them to keep me in the loop and explain if they found a problem. They never did. I tried to ask several questions at the end to figure out what the problem was, but they said nothing was unusual. I was disappointed they didn't communicate with me.
Finally, they missed a manifold. Their whole job is to identify the leak between 2 manifolds and they missed one in between. The plumber said, in their defense, that our house happens to have an additional manifold that is not next to a fixture (in a bathroom, laundry room, or by the kitchen sink. So it is unusual to have a random manifold in a wall that is not near any plumbing fixtures. This meant that after the plumber did the leak repair, the hot water to our extra upstairs bathroom failed to work since it was fed by the 3rd manifold. So the plumber had to come back again and do an extra re-piping to this bathroom, more drywall torn out, etc. If they do leak detection full time, have they never seen a hidden manifold like this? They could have checked the upstairs bathrooms to make sure they properly isolated the leak and manifolds, and ruled out (or identified) a hidden manifold.

Did not hire because we did not receive a call back when we were told we would. We had to find someone else to come out and repair a leak in our pool.

WE DIDN'T REALLY CARE FOR THEM THAT MUCH. I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. THEIR WORK WAS KIND OF QUESTIONABLE BECAUSE WE HAD TO HAVE THE SAME LEAK FIXED 11 MONTHS LATER UNDER THE FOUNDATION AGAIN.
