 + -1 moreCraftsmanship and attention to detail were excellent. John Pfautz is a terrific carpenter, meticulous, and thorough. During both projects with him, I frequently received unsolicited comments from neighbors on the quality of work they observed. Additionally, following the completion of work, contractors and carpenters who have worked on my house often comment on the quality of craftsmanship in his work. At the beginning of both projects, John was focused, punctual, and efficient in moving the project forward. As things moved into the latter stages, he was clearly moving onto greener pastures and new projects, and wasn't as timely or consistent in completing the smaller steps necessary to finish the project. Nonetheless, the overall experience was highly satisfying, and the quality of the work has endured over several years since completion.
Description of Work: Renovation of an early 50s Eichler in Palo Alto, which included remodeling 2 bathrooms, kitchen, window replacement, and a variety of custom carpentry work. Additionally, I've used John for construction of a stucco wall and arbor in San Francisco.
