Poulos Moving Systems is owned and operated by Peter Poulos, a native of Monterey, who has worked in the moving industry since 2002— packing, moving furniture, driving, supervising crews, and managing moves. A former driver with the largest Van Line in the country Pete Poulos gained knowledge of the industry few have experienced. Now an owner of his own small business he is passionate about Poulos Moving Systems and the potential it holds. Poulos Moving Systems, Inc. serves with dedication in helping families make an easy transition to their new homes. We have experience working with customers and understand that moving can be stressful at times. Our experienced, professional crews are personable, prideful and caring to our customers needs and concerns. Our equipment and fleet of trucks are owned by us and maintained regularly by a small business like ourselves. Poulos Moving Systems was contracted as our moving company for our final military move from Virginia to Idaho. Immediately upon load-out, I was pleasantly surprised to hear directly from Brian, the driver, with updates during transit and expected to-the-minute arrival times. This is the BEST communication we had from all of our military moves. Brian and Christian were extremely personable and went above and beyond in the handling and care of all moving boxes and furniture. They are a hard-working team, and it is obvious that they enjoy what they do as they have a vested interest in the success and reputation of the company. Poulos Moving Systems all the way!

Perfect. I needed a 10x10 storage unit moved into a first floor, 1 bedroom. An easy move but I'm currently physically limited, and my moving window was too small to organize friends in time to complete the order. Poulos was exactly what I needed, at a reasonable price (hard to find), and the movers put in the effort to go the extra mile without milking the clock. I would certainly recommend them to anyone. My mother has used professional movers before and was left feeling like she was ignored, her possessions were disrespected, and items were carelessly dumped immediately inside the door. Poulos put together my bed and dining table in a flash and the boxes ended up where I had hoped they would. The entire time the movers were polite... smiling and laughing as they busted their *****. My mother was going to take me to lunch after checking out my new place. My mother liked the movers and their efforts. I paid Poulos, and then the movers walked away with my lunch money as a tip from my mother. It was worth it.

Great Experience!! Had to move my mother-in-law to Oregon from California. Contacted Pete and he was able to put together the move inside of a week. Although it was a small move, it was a tough time of year as it was first week of Jan and loading would have to occur right after xmas. Pete and his people did a great job orchestrating the logistics and loading. Despite a snowstorm that closed a major highway into Oregon, he got everything there on time and at the price he quoted. No additional surprise charges. Delivery and setup was done within an hour and a half and went like clockwork. My mother-in-law was very pleased. His price was much more reasonable than all the national companies I checked. Pete and his people were very professional, always responded to my calls and communicated very well. Highly recommend Poulos Moving and would use them again.

They arrived on time. We had everything packed and ready to go, we have moved often and use professional materials and know how to pack. From the beginning we wondered about the professionalism of the crew, they had regular workers but also daily guys. They were the weak link, as we soon found out as they scraped the walls with our leather recliners damaging them before they got on the truck. The crew had a hard time fitting all of our possessions on the truck, but did eventually finished. To their credit, they did store our stuff for free for a while as we had trouble with our new house being ready. When our load was delivered, we were devastated to find out all the damaged items. Four leather recliners had damaged upholstery, holes, scrapes, pieces bent out of shape. My upholstered couch had rust stains from lawn furniture put on top. A shattered glass table top. The men unloading were just as unprofessional (except for the two regular ones) and just didn't seem to care about all of the damaged items (Although one of the daily guys did apologize). When we contacted the owner about the damaged items, he said we didn't buy the optional insurance so he was only liable for the contract. He did offer to send out a furniture repair guy, who was totally unable to fix anything. The promised furniture cleaner failed to materialize. Overall, a terrible experience with this company and we are very disappointed as we like to support small local businesses.

I called and met with Pete Poulos about 2 weeks before the move. We moved to another home about 2 miles from old location. He looked around the house and gave me an estimate for moving the piano and the large bulky items as well as all the items in the house. We chose to move just the large items because we didn't think we would get all the little items packed in time for the whole house move.
We called the day before to make sure we were on the schedule and they confirmed. 
The day of the move, 3 guys arrived on time 8:30 AM and the lead mover went through the house to identify all the items that needed moving. They then came in and moved all the items, wrapping items carefully in blankets. We drove to the new house and they carefully unloaded all the items, carrying large, heavy items upstairs to the 2nd floor. Afterwards they had me do a check to make sure all items were where I wanted them to be and in good condition. They moved the piano again upon my daughter's request.
The guys were very polite and professions and did a very good job. The cost was less than the original quote, so that was a nice surprise. I would recommend this company.

I can't say enough good things about Poulos Moving Systems. They moved the contents out of an almost-full 7' x 10' storage space, drove everything about 350 miles north, and did a very professional job from beginning to end. Pete was a gem to talk to and always provided clear, accurate information in a timely way. He gave me advice on how to reduce the cost of the move and saved me over a thousand dollars. The two guys on his work crew were friendly, punctual, careful with my things, and very organized. There was absolutely no aggravation with these folks -- none. They understand how to treat their customers well. I recommend them very, very highly. If you're looking for quality professional work and excellent customer service, go with Poulos Moving Systems.

Amazing!  Picture this:  I'm out front puttering around in the yard, trying to decide what garden items I want to include in the move.  I hear trucks approaching down the street.  I look up as two moving vans pull up in front of my home.  The first thing I notice is the huge smiles on the faces of all six men; next, they jump from the truck cabs with enthusiasm and head straight for me where they form an informal "line" to one-by-one introduce themselves and shake my hand.  Say what?  That initial impression of professionalism and caring continued throughout the entire move. It is common for the person in charge to perform a walk-through with the client to note any special details about the move.  My experience has always been that the "leader" translates the information to the other worker's.  Not with Pete Poulos.  All six men on the job toured the home with us as we went room to room so each of them heard important details and precautions from the source.  I was duly impressed.
The remainder of the move went exceptionally well.  They were organized, respectful, enthusiastic, pleasant, courteous (am I using too many adjectives?), efficient and fast!  When I put out a spread of fruit, drinks and treats you would have thought they were being taken to a five star restaurant, they were so grateful. This move for me was not under the most pleasant circumstances but Poulos Moving Systems made it a breeze. 
Ready for the most amazing finale?  THE FINAL INVOICE WAS HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS LESS THAN THE BID!  How's that for service?  They told me at the time of the initial bid that that might happen.  (Ha! I thought, we shall see).  Well, it was much less, and worth every single cent.
PS I tipped each guy very well.  Hey, they earned it!

I called, and was scheduled for the next morning. They arrived at the beginning of the 8:15-9:00 arrival time. To very professional and polite men.  They made short work of setting up ramps, wrapping, and putting the piano in the truck. It was carried on a dolly up four cement steps and across my hardwood floors without incident, and quickly set in place and unwrapped. Perfect!
I received a 5% discount as a Angie's list customer. In speaking about my regular use of Angie's List, the head mover said to me, " You could get this done a lot cheaper with guys out of the parking lot of Home Depot. ANGIE'S LIST CONNECTS QUALITY CUSTOMERS WITH QUALITY SERVICE. This is for people willing to pay a little more to get the job done right."   No kidding.

Almost all of our interaction with these guys was pleasant.  They were sort of on time (originally quoted for delivery a day earlier than they actually delivered), were pleasant to deal with, and took care of our furniture and boxes.  We were moving from a 2 bedroom house in Carmel to 2 seperate locations in Northern California.  Most of our stuff went to a rental house, the rest went 45 minutes away to a barn.  The road to the barn was windy and part was on gravel road with trees hanging down.  The driver did a good job making it to the barn and all of our items arrived intact.
Unfortunately, when it came time to pay, he wanted to charge me $4200 instead of the original quote of $3188.  They claimed we somehow had more items to move than what the estimator had counted.  Not true.  He saw every item that was to be moved.  They did provide some boxes and packing, but nothing that I didn't tell the estimator to include in his estimate.
After paying $4200, I called the owner Pete.  After some back and forth, he agreed to refund $848.

"I feel bad that price seemed to be the determining factor for our overall grade of a 'C'. I've looked over the original estimate and saw we had your move setup for a Saturday load, Sunday to drive, and Monday to delivery. I'm sorry but to ask me crew to work all day then drive in a truck through the bay area, get to Ukiah 6 hours later, stay the night in a hotel then deliver the following day is too much to ask. The extra delivery was a little more complicated than a windy road. In fact this road was a fire road on the side of a mountain. The exceptional ability my driver showed to maneuver his 26' truck was pure skill and intestinal fortitude that many drivers in the industry would have simply not have even attempted. Yes there was a price difference that was cleared up within a couple of days. I apologize for the mistake but at least we were able to resolve the issue quickly and without a 3rd party service. I'm glad you chose Poulos Moving Systems to be your mover and we apologize for not achieving 100% customer satisfaction. The next time you move we would be happy to be your mover of choice again. ! have nothing but praise for Pete Poulos, Steven Casas, and their organization, Poulos Moving Company. From the beginning, Steven clearly advised us of everything involved in an interstate move, answering all our questions and providing helpful suggestions. I had interviewed four different moving companies suggested on Angie's List, chose Poulos, and I'm very glad we did. We planned and contracted our move in March, well in advance of our late July moving date. Steven provided us with special moving boxes when we needed them but advised us to purchase most of the boxes at Home Depot. When loading day arrived, Pete Poulos and his excellent crew arrived and completed loading the truck in a professionally skilled and efficient manner. In a similar way Pete delivered our goods on schedule with a skilled crew in Pullman. They were friendly and helpful in a professional way. I'm happy to recommend them without hesitation and would be happy to work with them again.

I did not use a service for moving, my daughter and her fiancée were able to assist with my move. I contacted the agency listed to inform them I would not need their service, they were, again, very professional.

From start to finish everything went perfectly. They even packed our clothes, which was not in our agreement. Wow!  These guys were fabulous.  I contacted the owner a few days before the move. He answered the phone after hours, was easy to communicate with and quickly put together a contract.  His team was professional, neat and clean, on-time, and courteous.  This was an emotional move for my Mother and I couldn't have found a better company.  Nothing was a problem, every member of the staff was great, and they didn't put 1 scratch on my Mother's black lacquer baby grand piano.  Anytime I was discussing an item to move with my parents or started to work on something, a member of the staff jumped in to help or take over.  I wish Pete well on his business.  Thanks Pete for everything!

Mr. Poulos and his team arrived on time and after a brief evaluation of the boxes and furniture, began moving everyting down a flight of stairs to the van.  There was no wasted time and the team worked as a unit.  All items were treated with care and nothing was lost or broken.   Delivery was the same in reverse.  No damage to the items or the house.  I have had several moves in my life and Poulos Moving Systems has been the most professional, efficient and reasonable I have ever experienced. I anticipated a difficult move and they made it easy.  Mr. Poulos did compliment me on my level of preparation (almost everything was boxed) . I highly recommend Poulos Moving Systems for a stress free move.

I would definitely use Polous Moving again for a local move. Pete is a great guy, very professional, with a great manner. Also his guys were really punctual, efficient, and professional.We used them to move from Monterey CA, to Eagle CO.  The only problem with using them for an inter-state move, is that  they hook up with another company to do it. So while Polous did a great job, the larger company was running really behind. Our things arrived 11 days after my request date, and 5 days after the end of the delivery spread. Once here, the driver and his assistant were great, and the delay was not their fault. It seemed like the communication was not great between Polous and American Red Ball moving companies, and I really think that Pete Polous went out of his way to find out what was going on with American Red Ball, but that they (ARB) weren't very efficient.
Having said all that, please take into consideration, that we moved during the busy season, and also, Pete Polous did not have a lot of warning from us. Everything happened really quickly at the end there.

Great!  Arrived early, packed me up quickly, and had me moved within a few hours.  No breakage but plenty of offers to help me with other items to be moved (even though they had not anticipated doing so and were not expecting increasing their fee).  Great, great business!
