We placed the call on friday. We got the service on Tuesday after the long weekend. The technician was very qualified, was very polite, fixed the problem in a very short time, and gave a lot of good advice. We followed up with a call to their office, and were very pleased with their response.

We were very happy with the work they did and that they talked us out of a cople of projects that could have been lucrative for them but expensive and unnecessary for us. (the $0.00 "cost of service" was only option allowed on Angie's list. Don't remember exact costs but were reasonable compared to other bids.

The unit was being prepared for re-rental to new tenants on June 1, so it was stressed to the contractors from the beginning that they had only 2 weeks at latest to complete the work. They said they would only need 4 to 5 days at most. The work was originally scheduled to be completed for the week of May 16th, but due to a delay in the owner obtaining and delivering the tile, only the demolition was done during this initial week. As the tile was delivered to the site on May 24, most of the repair work was performed during the weeks of May 23 and 30, in a haphazard, last minuite scheduling way. As the main licensed contractors were busy with other jobs, this job was primarily delegated to the tile person, who had very little training in the other trades other than tile work. The first problem was in scheduling as the owner lives out of the area and wanted to oversee some of the main work but because the contractors did not have any set schedule, it was difficult to coordinate with them. The tile person in particular said he would show up at specific times, but was either very late or did not show up at all. The second problem is the work was not finished properly, in one case the studs were installed crooked, so that the wall edge appeared to curve; in another case the nail holes to connect the drywall to the studs were poorly patched and could be clearly seen on the wall; and yet in a third case, the drywall had a major gap in it around the switch plate. Only after complaining did the contractors fix these, among other things. Unfortunately, much of the finish work and corrective measures had to be completed after the tenants were already occupying the unit.

Finally, the primary expensive mistake the contractor made is that the shower-tub door was reinstalled improperly. The owner discovered the problem after about 3 weeks of tenant use when upon inspection the new floor and baseboard were damaged as evidenced by water stains and tiles that were pulling off the floor. When a very careful water test was done to discover what the problem was, it could be clearly seen that the when the shower was on and doors closed, water leaked under the frame of the shower door where it is connected to the top of the tub. This is clearly a problem with improper reinstallation of the shower-tub door.

On the positive side: To date, the other work completed by Apex, namely the replacement of the kitchen faucet and the installation of the sensor lights in the carport, appear to be completed properly and currently work. I believe the reason these projects appear to be successful is due to one of the owners of Apex and a licensed contractor himself performed the work himself. When confronted with all the problems except the shower-tub door problem (in process), the contractor did agree to discount the fee for the work completed.

I'm very pleased with their service and would highly recommend them. They were friendly and responsive and kept me informed. I am thrilled with the results and feel good about the money I spent. it started as a re-pipe and replace a water heater job that became much more.

Overall, things are going well. They are prompt and have attractive pricing. I am a touched concerned that they are taking some shortcuts in the job that they are doing. They haven't finished the job, but I think it's fair to say I have some concerns.

Very pleased overall. Very responsive. Plumber was at our house within two hours of my call...as promised. Quickly located the sources of the leak and repaired them with minimal damage to the ceiling area used to access the leaks. Leaks were fixed and I am very happy with the professionalism and responsiveness.

We initially requested repair or replacement of a broken water softener. We were resigned to repalcement actually. During his initial visit for estimate purposes, But Kumar suggested a relatively straight forward repair using a hard-to-get part. We were so impressed by his manner that we asked him if he would be prepared to perform a comprehensive inspection of the heating/water supply/sewage/electrical systems. Those inspections led to a few wise maintenance adjustments and repairs including added sewer clean-out, GFIs for some electrical outlets, replacement of corroded water pipe, and additiion of a secondary main water valve. All the work was performed professionally and cheerfully by Kumar and Shameer, his partner. We needed other repairs around the house and asked Kumar if he knew a good handyman. Kumar told us that Apex may be able to help us since Kumar and Shameer used to perform more general construction services, but had limited their work to plumbing and electrical systems. After performing some preliminary reviews they agreed to a list of other small jobs on a time-and-materials basis. Apex also replaced wood rotted siding, painting, selected roof re-gravelling, sealing of skylights, and custom replacement of rotted window frames. The work scope expanded from about 2 days to 4 days due to more extensive wood rot. We were extremely impressed with the work performed by Kumar, Shameer and Jose. In the case the roof re-graveling it looked as if the original isolated graveling was extended to include the whole roof - a pleasant surprise. All the work was performed neatly and for very reasonable cost. We have had some very poor handyman work in the past and now would like Apex to be our handymen for life!

Our dishwasher malfunctioned and they estimated that it would cost as much for a new one as to repair the old. Whilst there, he took all the stuff out from under the sink to check out what was wrong with the d.w. - he put everything right back where it goes (I've never had a plumber do that). When we had the new dishwasher delivered, we had him install it. He noted that there were pretty old pipes servicing the house, replaced those and did an excellent job. They do electrical and plumbing - I would recommend them to anyone.

They were very professional and competent. They charge a bit more for emergencies, but it was worth it.
