Two doors were perfect, but there was a miscommunication over the size of the screen opening in the other two doors. Rather than simply accept that there was a problem and find a solution, the contractor showed up at my house unexpected and confronted me in an unprofessional manner. An invoice for materials and services was sent to me by e-mail an hour later. It was a small job, nearly finished, and I expected to be invoiced and send payment when it was completed. The contractor's over-reaction to a simple problem was completely unjustified from my point of view. Prior to that, relations were professional and cordial. I paid the invoice in-full after a week passed even though the job was not finished. I included with my check a letter expressing my concerns about the situation. After two weeks, there has been no further contact from the contractor. I had to modify, screen, and mount the doors myself. This wasn't difficult, but it was inconvenient and time-consuming. In fairness, GMC completed five previous projects successfully and to my satisfaction. There weren't any issues and I paid promptly within 7 days of invoice.
