SIMPLE FLOORS

Install not complete yet--more soon. So far everything is beautiful and perfect!

Everything went exactly as she said.  Our order came in on time, we picked it all up at their warehouse and had our own contractor (Kevin Webber) put it in.  The flooring is so beautiful that I wish I had it everywhere!  Perfect experience.

I currently have older carpet and tile that I was in dire need of replacement. I originally went shopping at the local carpet stores thinking that would be the way to go, but quickly found the prices were a bit high for a quality carpet. I consider myself handy, but a carpet install isn't something I wanted to tackle, so there wasn't a way for me to skip the costly installation costs. I then began shopping for engineered hardwood, because prices were in line (especially since I can install them myself) and we actually prefer the look of wood over carpet.
After browsing the big box and flooring stores I called Simple Floors and spoke to Cece. I had lots of questions and she spent nearly a half an hour answering them for me(Knowledge and service was leaps and bounds above other stores) . After the phone call I made sure to show up in store when she was working to view the products up close. There were lots of options and once again Cece was patient and helpful while assisting us. With so many options we had a hard time making a choice, so we took home two samples to think about.
With the samples in hand we layed them against our cabinets, paint, and furniture in hopes one would stand out as the better choice. We chose the Aged Beluta (Lexington) and I then began to test the samples. When testing the samples I dropped keys, tools, and water to test the durability of the wood. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the samples held up quite nicely which led solidifying our choice to order the floors.
I ordered them on Tuesday of this week and they should be available for pick up on Thursday or Friday of this week. I will edit this review once the floors are installed.
FYI - They offer installation on the floors, but I'm confident enough in my DIY skills that I will do a great job installing (50 youtube videos later).

I first visited the showroom at Simple Floors in September 2013. Cece was working that day and was super friendly and happily answered all of my questions. In addition, she was quite knowledgeable about their products and even offered suggestions for matching colors and keeping the product clean. I ordered just over 1000 sq ft of the 12.3mm Eternity V-Groove Red Ancient Pine flooring and used their subcontractor, Yuriy, for installation. 
Initially, the wrong color flooring was delivered to my home which subsequently delayed my installation date. When their warehouse in the Bay Area called about delivering the correct product, there was a mix-up and they would only deliver it curbside. Having seen the size of the order once already and having chronic tennis elbow, I knew there was no way I could carry the product into my house. I called Cece and requested that she find a solution and despite the fact that tensions were high, she found a way to correct the situation. The correct product was delivered to their Sacramento warehouse and Yuriy picked up and delivered it to my home.
Yuriy did the installation in two days and did a fantastic job. He and his helper were very professional and skilled at their trade. Despite the hiccups, I would use them again because of the professionalism that both Cece and Yuriy maintained during stressful situations. 
PRODUCT NOTES: The 12.3mm  Eternity V-Groove laminate flooring would receive a “C” grade from me. The product has inconsistent sheens on various pieces which are noticeable. Some pieces look shiny and others look dull. Also, I was surprised at how easily the product dents when you drop things on the floor! The day after my install my cat pushed my iPad off the counter and onto the floor and it left a big dent in the laminate. My iPad is okay though. 

After combing all of the big box stores and other flooring stores I was, to say the least, disapointed and overwelmed with the poor quality and the lack of customer service I had found until I happened to find an add from Simple Floors. So, I called and spoke to Kathy at Simple Floors. The first thing that impressed my is that she was the first person that had asked me what color the other woods in the room were and what color were the walls! Now I knew that I was speaking to someone who knew what she was talking about. So, on that next Saturday my husband and I went to Simple Floors. From the time we walked in to the time we paid for our order we were treated with patience and professionalism. What a find!! We were never made to feel as though we were a bother with all of our questions or for the time it took us to make a decision. And it took us hours! The final transaction went as smooth as can be and we walked out of the store that Saturday with smiles on our faces. When the order came in on time as promised, by flooring installer went to pick it up and related to me that he had never been treated so nice and that all of his questions had been answered by Kathy. He delivered the flooring to our house and when he opened the first box he was blown away with the beauty and quality of Simple Floors product. They had ordered the transitions strips custom and were well worth every penny! They matched the flooring perfectly instead of a close match as would have been from other stores. Out of 20+ boxes we only had one board that had a slight problem and was used for a smaller piece. My flooring guy was so impressed with not only the service but the end result of the floors he will be using Simple Floors for future jobs and that says alot! My floors are stunning!! Thank you Simple Floors! Kathy thanks again for making a nightmare into a dream!!!

Very good experience with Simple Floors, from the initial talks with JB and CeCe, to the install job with Yuri. The laminate we bought was very resonably priced, and the workmanship that Yuri put in went above and beyond my expectations. I had to delay the project several times due to other projects in the home, and they were very accomodating to my schedule. I would absolutely use Simple Floors again, and would recommend to anybody to give them a chance.

Overall, our experience with Simple Floors was not very good. CeCe and the owner JB were fairly nice and helpful. However, looking back at the material we purchased, we now think the engineered hardwood was overpriced given the material was mostly short, 2 foot pieces, rather than the more attractive 3 or 4 foot pieces. However, that is not the main issue (read on...).
Why I am giving Simple Floors a "D" overall rating however, just comes down to 2 words... VINCE PARKER!!! He is one of their 2 main contractors / installers. Please refer to my review of Vince Parker for more details.
The reason that I would have to knock Simple Floors for their involvement with Vince was 2 reasons. First, they employ him and should know better. Second, at some point, when we began to get a bad feeling dealing with Vince, my wife and I requested from CeCe a different contractor / installer than Vince. Unfortunately, my wife and I were told our only option was to stick with Vince and keep our (re) scheduled installation date of November, or even further delay the installation out to JANUARY!!! As we were living on bare concrete floors at this point, January was not an option for us.
Finally, I did call CeCe from Simple Floors regarding our poor experience with Vince. She indicated that she had never heard anything bad about Vince. Apparently she doesn't have access to Angie's List since I am NOT the first person to write up a bad review about him.
So, in summary, I would likely give Simple Floors a "B" rating, rather than a "D" rating if it weren't for their contractor / installter, Vince Parker.
