Was able to find a great deal of information about our stressed redwoods, and used the referral list to find a local arborist to evaluate the trees.

They sent someone out first to evaluate what types of trees should be planted, and where to plant them. They were really great. They gave us instructions on planting and caring for the trees.

Home owner is responsible for planting. STF provides instructions. I received 4 trees. One needed to be replaced for fireblight. They provided replacement.

I called and left a message with the foundation and they called back the next day. They scheduled a visit right away and the arborist arrived within the specified timeframe (unfortunately from noon to four, which pretty much ate up our Saturday). The arborist was nice and very knowledgeable. The trees are free and they deliver, though you have to do the planting. Altogether a fantastic value and a wonderful service.

I called the STF and left a message receiving a return phone call within a couple of days. The woman I spoke with was very professional and scheduled our appointment within my vacation time for the following week. It was a 4 hour window so we had to be home during part of that weekday. Ken arrived and provided the above inspection and recommendations. He placed an order for 3 crape myrtle trees and 1 trident maple to be delivered and said we were eligible for up to 10 free trees. So, when we're ready to tackle the backyard, we can call the STF for more trees. We could have had our free trees within 1 week, but we asked for the red crape myrtles and since they don't have any in stock, he said it would take approximately 3 weeks.

It went very well. Pamela gave me a package about trees, energy saving ideas, tree siting guidelines, a magazine about trees published by the Sacramento Tree Foundation and a CD. I admit I have not yet watched the CD. Within a week, my tree arrived.

This is a place that donates trees and actually will show you how to plant them for a donation. I think it is a great idea and it good for the environment. The people are very caring and seem to really love the work they do. It is just good to know that there are still places out there that care about things and volunteer their time. Although I only had them come to get the understanding of the program I believe this is a very giving service.

THEY SHOWED UP TO MY HOME AROUND THE TIME THEY SAID THEY WOULD. THEY WERE NOT THERE VERY LONG AND MADE THE TREES LOOK GOOD. THE PRICE WAS REASONABLE FOR THE WORK DONE.
