Ken is our hero (and his trainee too)!! They came out within an hour of us calling this morning (during the worst heatwave of the year) and got our A/C back up and running in about 5 minutes flat. We have always been very pleased with the fast and reliable service we've received from Ken and Paul at Pacific Heat and Air over the past 15 years. They've come to our immediate rescue more than once, and we can't thank them enough. Highly recommend their services.

About a month or so ago we had a complete HVAC and duct work install at our House in Carmichael with Pacific Heat & Air (PH&A). I contacted several HVAC companies and received multiple bids. PH&A was competitive with their pricing but it was Ken's customer service and technical know how that won us over. Ken and company were attentive to our needs, answered all of our questions, and got us into their schedule relatively quickly. Moreover, Tom and Co-owner were very professional in their installation and completed our job in a timely manner and left the job site to prior conditions (no mess). Based on my experience with PH&A, you will get a competitive price, professional HVAC installation, with outstanding customer service.

I contacted 4 contractors about the replacement-- given its age, I knew it was time. Three installed Trane. Some ran comprehensive analyses, Others drew their conclusions based on existing equipment and apps/internet data re the size of my home. Ken of PHand A was among the latter, but I was confident in his conclusions because this was to be the 3rd system for a home I have lived in for 40 years. I had also read Consumer Reports and the Trane web site. All of the contractors said they would help in obtaining rebates. Only Ken disclosed the existence of a Trane rebate (I knew about it from Trane's web site). At least one contractor proposed upping the AC tonnage -- something the reference materials warn against, and something that had been unnecessary for the previous installations. Ken explained what equipment would be used, and how the heater and AC needed to be matched to achieve the desired efficiency. His estimate for the high efficiency system was lower than the other contractor bids for lower efficiency systems.
The work went as scheduled, starting about 9AM and ending about 5PM.. A crew of 4 arrived. Two worked outside; the two working inside tarped the rugs and were very neat. Toward the end of the day, Ken stopped by to review what the workers had done and to check refrigeration levels and temperature variations. About a week later, the independent duct testing company came out and found two small holes for their test equipment had not been provided. The technician called PHand A and someone was here within 15 minutes so the test could be completed -- it passed. A few days later, I heard a sound like a fan blade striking something. I called PHand A, Ken got back to me in a few minutes and one of his people was here within one half hour. The noise was a vibration where a gas pipe passed into the furnace cabinet --it was stopped by the installation of some foam insulation. The job was well worth the price ( pre SMUD rebate), and I would use PHand A again.

AC quit working during one of the worst heat waves in recent California history. I called quite a few Angie's List H VAC companies, all were booked 5 days out or more. I called Pacific Heat and Air on Sunday and the AC was repaired by 10 AM the next day. My AC is on the roof. Paul showed up a few minutes early, identified the broken part, gave a quote ($130 part + $75 labor), and fixed the problem in thirty minutes. My tenant is very happy. AC is working. Paul was prompt, polite, no nonsense, and very reasonably priced. When you're in a vulnerable situation, Pacific Heat and Air is the company you want doing the job. I will continue to use them.

Ken, the owner, came to my house checked my old system and gave me an estimate for my small space.. He was very helpful and did not try to pressure me. I had several other estimates and his was significantly lower than the others by thousands. I waited several months and called him back. He still honored the estimate he had given me. They came on the morning of installation, worked quickly and quietly installing a new high efficiency Trane heat pump furnace and air conditioner. They cleaned up everything before they left. This is a real old fashioned owner-operated business that really cares about the quality of its work. I was very impressed and happy with the result.

Our AC compressor stopped working. We called Pacific and a repairman responded in one hour, 2 hours ahead of his scheduled arrival. He removed and replaced a part. Our AC is working fine now. We would definitely use Pacific again.

Regular check up to the air con unit I have every year. I have used these folks for several years now. I found about them when on a hot Holiday weekend my aircon went down. I called many companies who didn't respond. Pac Heat/Air.. Reza.. called and gave me a couple of tips over the phone... I was able to fix it myself. From that point on, they became my Heat/Aircon people. I don't need to go anywhere else, they have always been super responsive and go the extra distance, even on my routine check ups, freeon add, etc.

With tax credits and rebates, it brought the price down to about $10000 to replace two 3 ton A/C units and two furnaces (for our two story house). Their bid was excellent (and we got 3 bids for the job), they were right on time each of the two days the job took, the job site was clean after each day, they laid tarps on the carpets to get into our attic, and the furnaces are working perfectly. I'll to wait until Spring to see how the A/C units are working, but I feel comfortable knowing that the Trane units are guaranteed and Pacific Heat and Air included a two year maintenance contract in the price of their bid.
