Natural Stone Design Gallery

This is the third time we've used Natural Stone Design for granite work (in two houses).  They are excellent.  Prompt, clean, precise, talented.
This time, we used gorgeous, complex Cozmos granite slabs -- which as the name suggests look like a picture of a galaxy, with swirls, colors, starlike flecks.  It also is very flaky and surprisingly fragile in the fabrication process. NSD did a great job of clean cuts/accents and matching seams.  At the onset, they secured our chosen slabs (and reserved backups from the same lot) from a granite yard with which they have a great relationship.  Then they gave us a tour of their facility to walk us through the entire process, and discussed all our options.  First, they laid out the tape/stencils on the four slabs, set them out in the sun for us to view, then had us come review/approve.  We decided we wanted a particular swirl prominently displayed on one wall, and they happily moved all the patterns around for us to accommodate our choice. NSD did an incredible job of matching the swirls and colors from counter/splash to counter/splash; the transitions are excellent, even when the patterns did not come from sections of the slabs that were cut near one another.  
At installation, they did a fine job of onsite cuts, as well (outlets, small adjustments, etc.), and an excellent job of creating clean seams.  And we had wanted one huge wall slab to be installed in one piece, even though that meant oddly cutting it around cabinets, etc.; they created what we wanted and simply sent out lots of guys to start the day and put that heavy piece in safely and carefully.  
Pat was our coordinator, and he was thorough and accommodating.   
Pricing is highly competetive.  And they worked really well with our bathroom reno contractor (we insisted he use NSD). 
We're big fans of NSD, will be using them for small bathrooms and our fireplace in a few months.

They showed up on time and installed the two pieces for my wet bar. It's beautiful.

We went in on a Sat and the person was very helpful, after waiting to talk to someone for 30 minutes. We placed the order and that went fine. Had to call 4 times to check the order status. One guy hung up, then next time took the number and said call right back , no call back. Called back the company for the 4th time, very rude.

The price was right and they did excellent work. They sold us a slab that was exactly what we wanted and within our budget.

They are excellent. They have a large quantity, they are friendly and kind, and they will work with you. They have oversized granite which most companies don't.

This is a great showroom staffed by helpful and patient salespeople who will lead you to the tile you need, provide samples to take home, and offer you a cup of tea to ease the stress of shopping for tile all day. On one visit I got information and tile samples that solved the vanity floor. On another visit I got some good ideas for the backsplash. I've also picked out the kitchen tile I will need for the next step of the project. There are several good tile stores in Sacramento. What makes this showroom stand out are the quantity and quality of products, the spacious and comfortable layout, and especially the patient and knowledgeable staff. If you're tired of running around and want to find everything you need in one place, I recommend that you spend some time at Natural Stone Design. (The contractor picked up the tile so I can't give exact cost, but prices are in line with other tile stores.)

Overall it was a terrific experience in every way. I felt like Kevin treated this better than he would in his own home. Anything we needed, they took care of. Fantastic work. They are now our go-to guys for granite/stone work.

I hired an interior designer to help me with my home remodel. Before it was over, she had brought me approximately thirty different floor tile/backsplash samples. As well, the two of us spent several hours looking at tile that would work with the granite we had chosen for my counter tops. I kept thinking, "This is America, 2009. Why can't I find tile that I am going to love for my home?" I was amazed by the many lackluster samples. Nothing spoke to me, nothing excited me. All the samples "worked" with the granite, but they were all dull and pedestrian. I was at the point of tears when twice I did find tile that was acceptable to me, but it turned out that the vendors did not have enough in stock. As well, the kitchen backsplash tiles presented to me were also bland and boring. I knew I was going to spend big money for this project and I simply would not settle for the mundane. When my designer finally went to Natural Stone Design Gallery in Sacramento, she found samples that immediately resonated with me. I visited the Gallery myself and I was amazed. I later told her, "Finally! Why didn't you go to this store the first time around?" Tim Guth and Heidi in the showroom immediately understood what I was trying to accomplish for my home. Their Sonoma Tile selection is amazing. Heidi jumped right in during my conversation with Tim and showed me that she knew what I wanted to do with my backsplash. When once again, the floor tile I liked turned out to be in short supply, Heidi took over and showed me exactly what would work with my granite, and finally, I fell in love with an Italian floor tile. My order was handled promptly and when I later decided to expand the project, Dan, who works in the warehouse, was phenomenal in getting more of the same tile in the exact same dye lot. I absolutely LOVE Natural Stone Design Gallery and everyone who works there. This great company deserves all the business they can handle.
