Modern Design

First, they dropped my refrigerator's door onto the concrete kitchen floor which damaged the door and took a big chunk out of the floor.  What's more is they never told me about this, and I had to threaten legal action in order to have the company pay for repairs.  They also convinced me into paying an exorbitant amount for some cabinets that were of a very poor quality and didn't look good at all in the kitchen, and they lied to me about fixing a drawer that wasn't level.  Ultimately, it was a horrible experience, and I wouldn't recommend this company at all.

In January, 2013, we contacted this company to remodel our small bathroom that measured 7 by 9 feet.  This company is doing business under multiple names including My Perfect Remodel, Modern Design, My Perfect Shutters, Folsom Kitchen Remodeling, Just Counters (doing business under CA State Contractor's License # 955774 owned by Steve Lawrence).  They seem to be doing business under multiple names in both the Sacramento and East Bay Tri-Valley areas.  This contractor is incompetent, unable to effectively project manage, delivers a terrible product that repeatedly failed city inspection, and is ignorant of even basic code requirements.   I would not recommend this company to anyone.
Our bath project involved moving walls, bringing electrical up to code, moving plumbing, rebuilding the bathroom, moving attic access and installing two corner media units.  The timeline Steve Lawrence provided in the contract was 3-4 weeks to complete the project with a projected completion date of March 18th 2013. 
The project started on February 19th 2013.  Over the course of the project, there were repeated ?miscommunications? about when they would arrive to complete the work. When we asked Steve for a schedule, he told us he is not obligated by contract
to give us a schedule.  When we pushed him to get the work done, he would yell and try to intimidate us.  The bathroom failed inspection 3 times ? the electrical was done incorrectly (despite the requirements being stamped on the permit 3 times in red), the shower door leaked and was missing supports required by code.   By August 2013, 6 months later, the project
was still not done!  They had not been on site nor communicated with us for over 30 days!  We fired this contractor for breach of contract and job abandonment.  Do not hire this contractor Steve Lawrence or his sons Steven Lawrence and Ryan Lawrence under whatever company name they are using now.
