Midtown Framing

The first time I used this custom frame shop I had a better experience, although the price was a bit high. This time, with no framing or matting involved I was disappointed that they wanted $45 just to switch one document with another in a custom frame I already had. That's no more than a 15 minute job and I felt like I got gouged. I won't be going back to them again.

It's been over five years since I've had anything custom framed, but having a friend who used to have a custom frame shop, I'm familiar with frame selection, matting and glass choices, etc. I took my etching in and Kevin helpfully laid out some black frames of appropriate sizes. Then I sampled some mats of various cream colors and thicknesses, knowing that I wanted an acid-free archival mat. I also went with UV clear glass for protection. Along the way Kevin outlined price differences for various options within the above three categories of framing parts. The process went very smoothly and the frame was ready before the estimated completion date.
