Mark was on time and very professional. He not only did a fantastic job with the tuning, but he also kindly adjusted squeaky pedals and the mute pedal which wasn't funtionally optimally.
Piano sounds wonderful and Mark is very personable. We found our long-term piano tuner!

Mark is friendly and efficient. He's passionate about what he does, loves music, and is a talented pianist himself. We struck up a conversation about music in general when he saw my daughter's cello. I thought I might have to buy a new piano if ours could not be tuned and made to sound acceptable. Mark said it had a lot of life left in it, it just needed a tune. Once he was done, he played a beautiful piece, which I could not believe was coming from our old piano. I would definitely recommend Mark and will use him again, regularly now that I know what a piano is supposed to sound like.

It is always an enormous relief to have everything go well, beyond expectations, when utilizing for the first time the services of a contractor or repair/servicing professional. My piano's original rich timbre - its resonance and pitch -were fully restored and I am delighted with the result. Thank you, Mark Stivers Tuning, and thank you, Angie's List.

My 36 year old piano hadn't been tuned in 26 years! Although it didn't sound horrible it was waaaaaaay past time for a tuning and had a few sticky keys and twangs. Made an appointment with Mark a week ago after reading Angie's List reviews. Arrived about 10 minutes late today but no biggie.....he got right down to work, took a little more than an hour to get it done, was personable, neat, professional, very fair price ($100 for any piano), and I'd have him back without any hesitation. He even played a Christmas tune when he was finished to test it out. Wish I could play like that!

He was very professional, and the piano has stayed in tune even months after he tuned it. Will definitely use him again.

It was easy to arrange our appointment for a day or two after we made contact.
Mark arrived on time, exchanged pleasantries during our introductions, then set straight to work (I'd already cleared the piano top of music, lamps, dust, etc.).
He used an "app" on his iPhone to get accurate frequencies for the notes/strings, explained what and how he was doing while he was doing it. We also had short aside conversations on art, music, languages and history. Nothing "gabby", and all very enjoyable for me.
He finished in an hour, played some arpeggios and popular songs (Lady Be Good and another), adjusted the sustaining pedal, lightly reworked the hammers and put my piano back together again.
He plays good piano, more accomplished than I. He also did a little sight-reading of an Albéniz piece he spotted in my sheet music.
I paid and he left.
The whole visit took very close to an hour.
When I sat down to play, the difference in the piano, touch as well as tone, was so much improved that I'd have sworn he executed additional adjustments to the action - but I know he hadn't because I watched him almost all the time. Not only was my piano in tune, with a warmer-sounding tone, but it seemed easier for me to control the volume, and the keys seemed more responsive.
I'm very happy to have used his services and will again, in about a year.
Thanks, Angie, for this referral.

He was on time, he was accurate. He explained what he was doing. My piano has never sounded better, but one of the nice things is that he sends a postcard out every year to reminds you it's time to have you piano tuned again. He is a really nice guy and he knows what he is doing. He is an expert piano tuner - he has all kinds of licenses and stuff.

Mark did a great job. Mark is a very personable guy. Down to earth, very friendly and most of all, very competent. He is easy to work with, shows up on time, returns phone calls within reasonable timeframe. Just great to do business with. I will definately call him next time! I highly recommend him

Mark arrived and was very diligent in his work. It was very apparent that he brought a wealth of experience by the tools that he used. He was precise and knowledgable about the intricacies of my piano. His process is very through using an electronic tuner (1st pass) and by ear for the 2nd and 3rd (final) adjustment. I found him to be personable and a good conversationalist as well.
