Made In America Made In Japan

I have found this auto repair shop to be professional and honest. Their service is a bit on the pricey side compared to some other private mechanics, but I'm willing to pay a little more for the convenience of having a competent mechanic located within a few blocks of my office. I can drop off the vehicle in the morning, walk to work and then pick it up at the end of the day without having to worry about getting a dealer shuttle or biking through traffic halfway through town. I'm skeptical of mechanics who always seem to find something wrong with vehicles, especially ones that receive regular maintenance. If this shop was always calling me saying they just found some expensive problem, I would get a a second opinion to make sure the work actually needed to be done. If I felt they were trying to rip me off, I wouldn't go back. But that has not been my experience. As a touch of good customer service, the owner always calls within a week of the appointment to see how it went and whether I was satisfied. So it does seem that they have a level of quality control.

I have taken my vehicle to Made in Japan many times. However this time I couldn't as the person who ran the diagnostic machine was only able to work on Tuesday. Also they do not offer any shuttle service and I would have had to sit in the lounge for many hours with my dog. I have always in the past thought they did a great job but this time the early closing time, not working on week-ends, limited time available for work to be done all contributed in my going elsewhere.

They do a really good job. They are not the cheapest, but they are extremely thorough and they really know what they are talking about. They tell me what needs to be done immediately and what I will need to think about in the future. They are great.

The work was done properly, but when we picked up the car, they had put their license plate frames on without asking permission. It took twenty minutes to remove them. The recommended almost $1000 worth of additional work.
