Excellent job Derrick.  He arrived during the agreed upon window period and once he determined what needed to be done he completed the job efficiently and to my satisfaction.  During idle chit-chat about house and what I wanted to do regarding replacing the doors, he provided some suggestions on preferred door types and hardware.  Will most likely be contacting him to do the installation.

Professional, on time, did work quickly with great results. They were in same price range or a little less expensive than other locksmiths in the area. Would definitely use them again.

Derrick came out right away after I called him. We had bought new hardware for our door with smart keys and had no idea how to install it. He was very professional and helpful and tought us how to re-key the door in the future if needed.
A few weeks later I tried to do that and couldn't figure it out. I called Derrick and he took the time to walk me through the steps over the phone. I would definitely recommend this company.

Derrick has actually come to our house twice.  He's always prompt and takes care of business quickly and professionally.  A very nice person who gets the job done.  Will always use "Keys Plus..." for any locksmith needs.

We had talked with the manufacturer about problems we were having with a lever handled door lock.  They sent us a new lock for us to install.  As an Angie's list member we looked for someone with a high rating. Keys plus is reasonably close to us and we called. We made an appointment for the next day.  Derrick gave us an hour's window, and stated he would call before he came.  He called early and we agreed that he could come nearly an hour before our appointed time.  
He was courteous, very responsive to questions we had, and was able to replace the mechanism fairly easily. I was impressed when he installed the lock that it didn't feel quite "right" to him, and he took it out and made an adjustment so that it works perfectly.  His knowledge level seems quite high.  He advised us that we had called before the lock became inoperable, which is a very lengthy and expensive repair.  This is valuable knowledge as we have three doors with the same lock. 
This was all done, and he seemed pleased that we were Angie's List members and gave us a 5% discount as his website promised.
We are quite pleased that we called Keys Plus-Midtown.
Kudos to both Derrick and to Angie's list.

This is a buyer beware note.  If you don?t need a follow up/corrective visit from Keys Plus, you?ll be fine, otherwise buyer beware.

 

In late January 2013, I purchased a new (to me) home and wanted to have all locks rekeyed.  I found Derrick at Keys Plus on Angie?s List with good reviews, so I gave him a call.  We scheduled an appointment for the day escrow closed and I took possession.  He came out as scheduled, rekeyed my locks and indicated the security door lock was wearing out, that it might need to be replaced if it started to give me problems.  It did, 3 weeks later.  Again I called Derrick and he promptly came out and replaced the lockset for $320.00. 

 

Fast forward about 3 months.  I needed a family member to get into the house, but their key wouldn?t work in the security door.  Odd, it was one of the keys Derrick had cut.  My key and my daughter?s work just fine.  I had a replacement key cut at Home Depot.  It wouldn?t work in the security door lock.  It will open the other rekeyed locks, just not the security door.  I stopped by a different locksmith.  They cut a new key using a more precise method than the grinder usually used.  Again, it will work in the regular door, not in the security door. 

 

So far, I?ve called and have spoken to Derrick at Keys Plus twice about the issue.  I?ve texted him once and received a confirmation text back.  I?ve confirmed the issue and my contact information all three times.  He still hasn?t found time to contact me to come correct the issue.  This includes two days when I was working from home and he could have come at any time.  These communications cover approximately 3 weeks.   Needless to say, this is completely unacceptable.  After spending hundreds of dollars for rekeying and then a new lock, to not be able to get this issue resolve?.buyer beware if you use Keys Plus and need corrective visit.

All I can tell you is that I needed the locks for a piece of rental property I owned changed so I called Keys Plus.  No one answered the phone so I left a voice message.  In the message, I reported that I could not lock the door, which was a big concern.  To this day, I have not received a return call.

Provider responded immediately to my request. Kept me informed of what he was doing and what parts needed to purchased to repair the lock and gave me an estimate of the cost. Within four hours, the lock was replaced and the final bill was in line with the estimate. I would definitely call Keys Plus again.

I called Keys Plus at 7:15 in the morning after arriving home following a dog walk to find that the cylinder in my front door had come free from the lock (and reading the reviews here).  Derrick was able to fit me in right away and made it to my house by 9 am.  He spent a good hour plus fixing the lock in question as well as three others that were not functioning perfectly.  He was super professional and took the time to explain to me the mechanics of why the lock broke.  And he seemed totally unfazed by a super social barking puppy.  I will definately use Keys Plus again should the need arise.

Derrick responded to my phone call by saying he could come out within an hour.  He called just before arriving and came on time.  He was able to remove the lock and also gave me some excellent, concrete suggestions on how I can secure the gate and maintain ease of access (minimize risk of locking myself out).
He was cheerful, polite and knowledgeable.  A pleasure to do business with.

In both cases, Derrick, the owner of Keys Plus, proved to be reliable, conscientious, and very competent. He takes pride in his work and his pricing is fair and reasonable.

Derrick was fast, efficient and personable. I would definitely use this service again and recommend to others.

Derrick was a pleasure to work with.  He did a very good job, with nice style to knobs and concerned about look as well as function.  He was timely, punctual, quick to respond to calls and thorough with service provided.  Would strongly recommend him in the future and am sure we will use him again.

Derrick gave me good advice about rekeying that saved a lot of money.  He rekeyed all the door locks and cut several spare keys, making one of them a "do not duplicate" key in case I needed to loan it to contractors.  He also showed me how the back gate lock works so I can use it more effectively, and he made it an extra gate key that looks different from the house key so it's easy to tell them apart.  I appreciated his advice and skill, as well as his willingness to educate me about the locks in my house and show me their security features.  Highly recommended.

Called in the morning--they came in the afternoon and successfully "unstuck" a locked deadbolt in 10 minutes or thereabouts.

Very responsive, friendly, and professional.  He also gave me a referral for a cabinet installer who appears to have great references!

He is a locksmith and they get top marks from me. I will use them again in the future.
