It went well considering. In the places that Ken and his helper had to rebuild the borders from scratch, they did an excellent job. Ken even noticed that water from the lawn regularly flowed over the sidewalk and into the would-be rebuilt brick border. He recommended and made weep holes so that it would not compromise the structure--a very smart move if you ask me. Great work on the rebuild. In the places where Ken had to mortar/point mostly in-tact borders, I think he did a good job, considering. The "considering" is that the original borders were not designed and constructed well and Ken did his best to mortar/point it back together with what he was working with. I appreciate the fact that his knee jerk reaction was not to recommend tearing down everything and building it all from scratch which would have earned him more work and dollars, but he was conscience of the fact that mature tree root systems would have been compromised if he did that. I also appreciate his efforts to match existing mortar color and bricks.

Absolutely awesome! It is refreshing to find a contractor who is not only a master craftsman but also a genuinely great guy. Kind. Professional. Customer focused. I wish I could rate Ken higher than a 5.
