Our experience with Keller Williams, representing both us as buyer and representing the seller, was less than stellar. The impression they gave us was they were most interested in closing the escrow rather than serving their customer?s needs. Our agent, Jo Greene seemed to be inexperienced and she worked for the buyer?s representative, Mike Rigley, manager of the Keller Williams office. So, she seemed to defer to him rather than represent us. We had to prompt her regularly for information that should have come to us automatically; e.g. exactly when the offer was accepted started the 10-day clock for our home inspection (no response); what options were available regarding our deposit if the process dragged on for months (?don?t worry?); as a short sale, information on a clear title to the property (no response); estimated closing costs (provided only after requested); expectation of excess escrow funds to be refunded and delivery of title documents (provided only after requested); directive that we would not require the home warranty proposed (information not passed on to escrow); landscaping at the home was to be maintained during escrow and purchase process (?maintenance agreements can?t be enforced?).
It was most disturbing that we were provided a ?Buyers Representation Agreement? with a stipulation that we pay Keller Williams commission on any property, anywhere, that we may purchase for any price within one year - regardless of what Realtor or other representative we might use. It didn?t just apply to the particular property in which we were interested. When we balked, we were told this was a standard practice that all Realtors employ.
We have bought and sold many homes over the years. This transaction employing Keller Williams was completely unsatisfactory.
