DO NOT USE JWH Custom Homes (Jeff W Husk) under any circumstances. He is an unlicensed contractor who has had his license revoked twice due to multiple violations of working without a license, filing false workers' compensation exemptions, exceeding contract amounts, and doing work without a change order, to mention a few. During the course of 30 days, he lied repeatedly to my face and appeared not to have the expertise he professed to hold. Jeff was hired to perform the tasks above with the understanding he was a licensed contractor. While Jeff was a contactor who did show up normally on time and worked full days initially, I started to become suspect of his abilities about two weeks indo the project. After a few minor redoes, (the trim on one window was crooked, the texture on the dry wall didn't match the existing drywall)l, I began to doubt his knowledge and skill base. While Jeff is very willing to correct his mistakes, there started to be too many. When he started to lay the engineered wood floor, he admitted to watching a You Tube video the night before to brush up on his skills. He said later that he had forgotten how hard it was to lay a wood floor He had to rip out part of the floor that was squishy and when he was told that there was numerous hallow places on the floor, he indicated that he would rip those out, not knowing that there was a much simpler solution. He removed and re-installed the toilet to lay the wood. Four days later, i discovered a leak and when confronted about the leak, he acted as though he didn't know about it, but he did but failed to tell me. The wax ring had not been sealed yet he failed to tell us not to use the toilet. The leak occurred under the toilet and also at the supply line because ti was not tight enough. He brought uninsured workers into my house after I told him not to. He mislead me to believe that he had a license but I discovered the week before I let him go, the truth behind this liar. On the final day, he tried to get $1000 more from me. This interaction resulted in the police being called and he left before they arrived. The wood floor is a 950 sq ft area has now started to discolor and have very unusual markings. This may or may not have anything to do with Jeff's work. But when I talked to him about the floor discolorations, he felt that there was nothing wrong with the floor. On the day Jeff denied anything was wrong with the floor, three other people noticed and commented how odd areas of the floor looked. I have so many regrets and there were signs along the way but at the time I hired him as a referral., 3 months had already passed where I didn't have a kitchen sink and my luck with contractors had been dismal. I' now have a downstairs where not one room is functional. i still don' t have a kitchen, the guest bathroom is not usable, the furniture is upside down, and the den is a staging area for the doors he painted that I did not authorize him to paint. His website indicated that he was a licensed, bonded, contractor, but know I now. NEVER trust what they say on their website, check it out with the state contractor's license board
