It went great.

We desperately needed to get our Subaru to pass smog (we had procrastinated then took it to a check only facility). Well, it didn't pass and our tags were about out of time. So we found Japanese Automotive Specialists on Angies List and gave them a call. Since we needed to get the check engine light diagnosed we figured we would do the timing belt at the same time (also long overdue). Steven, gave a very detailed explanation of the work and cost associated with the timing belt and told us he would run some diagnostics on the check engine light. The first thing he pointed out was that the smog check showed all the numbers were good it only failed because the check engine light was on. So after running some test he simply reset the check engine light, it passed smog and it hasn't come back on. Steven clearly cares about cars and wants to see them maintained properly so that they can last a long time.

Japan Automotive Specialists is the best recommendation ever given to me. I've been the owner of three Toyotas and Paul and Steve have taken great care of each one over the past 25 years. Japan Automotive is a jewel in a sea of scammers.

Everything is great. They were really good. They were really nice and professional. They got it done pretty quickly. He was really fair and he saved me some money. He seemed pretty honest to me.

I made an appointment and brought my car in within 3 days. The check engine error was resolved immediately (air hoses had been disconnected). 90K service was performed and adjustments were made, spark plugs where replaced, oil changed, and coolant replaced. He was very detailed and explained everything. He made recommendations, but did not pressure me to spend more. I felt that they were very knowlegeable and professional. I will use them again.

They are just incredible! They are very competent, honest, and they have very good customer service. They are reliable and do good work. I have even noticed opera coming from the workshop. They really know Japanese cars. I have nothing bad to say about them.

I have been a customer of theirs for years and I have always been pleased. They are a smaller business and they are high on integrity, courteously and quality with repairing your vehicle. They always go above and beyond with their service!!!!
